  1. While it's idiotic not to support divx everywhere, I've removed that feature from my "deal breaker" list. For one thing, my divx library is all 852x480, and about 3GB per movie. So that won't work on a FAT formatted drive anyway. Also, it's a waste of space to have the videos in the same quality for watching on a 42" screen, for watching on a 7" screen. I'm going to have to reencode everything to shrink it down, so no big deal to put it in mpeg4 I guess.
  2. Been reading over the manual, and that spec jumped out at me. Page 210. I'm a noob to this stuff, but my smallest USB drive is 160GB. And there are 32GB SDHC cards out now. Is that a hard limit? Have past Pioneer head units had similar limits?
  3. Ah--now that the manual is out, my questions are answered. What an awesome head unit!
  4. Any info on whether it will have full-featured audio and video controls for USB hard drives? I'm shopping for this class of head unit now and I keep reading about limited functionality when the source is USB. The new Kenwood is reportedly a buggy disaster, and reading here it seems that earlier AVICs had limitations playing Divx from USB. I never want to have to use a CD or DVD--everything must work from a hard drive. I want a very clear, PC-player style of interface for playing USB videos: most importantly the ability to skip to anywhere in the video with a slider or similar control.
