  1. I have the update SD card from Pioneer. I was able to find the data.zip file and made a change on the ini file to the parking speed to 128. However, , when I put the SD card to the F500, it did not reboot to install, the unit still just turn on normally C(the unit is already updated its software to version 2.006). Could you tell me what should I do to get it to work? found the step in page 10 of this thread.
  2. I have a 500BT, it worked fine in all the functions until one day it failsed in two function. 1. the unit did not sense the phone. 2. the unit did not sense the SD(the SD icon did not light up). Before I was about to send for warranty repair, I call pioneer service department. The technician advised me: 1. delete the phone from menu, let the unit sense the phone again. 2. you probably have some video in the SD causing problem, so format the SD, put some music file into it, see what happen, call us back if you have more problem. So first, I tried to delete the phone, however, no way, becaus
  3. Anyone using the F500bt video feature? I would like to know what format are being used on the video files. I used the MWV or MP4 format, the resolution is only 20% of the screen size. Is there anyway to make the screen size bigger with different kind of video format, or that is the way it should be?
  4. I found out that WMV, MP4 format would work. However, the picture is only 20% of the screen size. Anyone know how to enlarge the picture to a full scree size?
  5. Anyone has experience using the video input feature in the F500bt or f90? I put music files and video files in the SD. The F500bt only read the music files but does not recognize the video file. Any suggestion?
  6. I used the cigarette lighter plug to power the F500bt. Sometime, unit unit would shut off by itself. So I pushed the start button twice to start it back, and in 10 minutes, it shut off again. Again, I pushed the start button twice, it started for another 10 minutes and died.... Anyone experienced the similar situation? Any solution for it?
  7. I put the unit in the area in front of the shift stick, but it turn out to be a bad idea. When play with it while you are driving, one needs to move your straight forward eye sight downward, that is hazardous. So it needs to be moved up. So I did this. 1. Use a 2.5x3.5 inches hard wood floor piece(red hard wood), put 4 small screws approximated the four holes of the f500bt holder. 2. On the back of the wood , secured a rigid metal strip(I used copper), the two free ends of the metal strip were band like so it snap the edge of center vend of the console. snap the wood piece front the unit
  8. Here are the photo of harness wires and the connection diagram F500BTConnection.pdf
  9. Figure it out myself, so put it out to share. 1. The brake line go to the ground or the frame of the car. Even you can run the setup by detaching the unit, it is still necessary to connect the brake line to the ground to form a complete electrical circuit. 2. The reverse signal wire goes to the the wire of the backup light which lights up when you put in the reserve gear, the f500bt comes with a 5 meter long wire for that purpose. That is for camera installation, if not, leave it alone. 3. The amp wire goes to the Pioneer ND-G500. it will mute the radio when there is incoming phone call a
  10. Just bought a F500BT and would like to install myself in 2007 VW GTI. I would like someone help me(or suggest some thread)how to connect the wires? 1. where to find the parking brake wire? I understand this is necessary to enable the setup. But since I can run the setup of the unit by detaching the unit from the car, so can I leave this wire unconnected? 2. Where to find the reverse signal in put wire? 3. There is a amp wire, is this a mute line? my car has stock radio, does not have amplifier, do I hook this to any speaker? 4. The battery line go to car battery 12v positive? 5. Since
  11. I would like to install a Pioneer Nav unit to my VW GTI. Since you did it recently, I would like to know: 1. How do you decide which model of unit, F500? F701? I just want the Nav and bluetooth function. 2, How to remove the original radio unit? 3. Does the Pioneer unit comes with the connectors or I have to order them? And what are they? Thanks.
  12. I connected one phone with the F90 and it works fine, but fail with another phone. The phone is a samsung, AT&T, can not tell what model it is. In its bluetooth option, when it start activated, it searches for devices( the phone dos not have visibility option), then the phone screen says fail. Using the F90 unit, it also showed fail to detect the devices. So is it true that some bluetooth devices(the f90 and the phone) are not compatible and they will not work together?
  13. F-series doesn't have anything to measure distance to obstacles. Neither do most cameras. Some camera does. My other car equipped with a backup camera making announcement of the distance of the obstacle in English. It is made in China. It is not part of a GPS unit. It project the camera image in the back reflex mirror(comes with system, not the original mirror)
  14. My f90 back camera does not have distance of obstacle announcement. Does the new version of softwear comes with it or not?
  15. Thank you jwq, in my samsung phone, the discoverable called viability. Once it is on, the f90 detected the phone, and the phone detected the f90, the f90 prompt with the 1111 cod on the screen, key the 1111 into the phone, the phone is complete connected. Thanks again jwp.
