I bought my system and brought it home to find out it ran terrible, with maps that were 2 years old or more. I went online and found the 2.0 update which helped some, but saw there was a 3.0 update i would have to buy for my brand new system. The excuse from Pioneer was that it had new maps included but it was also the update that made the system not run like crap.

Alot of the hacks for version 2 and 3 are different.

If you are scared to jailbreak then you will not have very much luck getting internet working.

second. Iphones do not have much of a warranty anyway and you cannot get insurance on them so it is not even a factor. Itunes will revert your Iphone back to factory settings with one click which i have done at least twice.

If you are scared of jailbreaking then don't do it but if you are going to get internet on your AVIC you are probabaly messing with its warranty too. Anyway Pocket Proxy is a proxy program. I am not 100% sure if it uses your homes internet or the Iphones but i am thinking it uses your homes. A Proxy server is a way to hide where you are really using the internet.

That is my thread and no no no. He is still running 2.0 software if he bought the maps update SD card. What you need to do is update 2.0 to 3.0 on all your systems which Pioneer called a map update but in reality the 3.0 update was a huge performance upgrade too.

This thread explains how to update to 3.0 and give you kind of new maps

After that you can update again from the Pioneer update to the absolute newest version

I never downloaded the hacked version that was available earlier - people said that it didn't contain all of the fixes that Pioneer said would be in it, and people were pissed off at Pioneer for that. ...But it wasn't even Pioneer's version that they were installing, you know

Who said it was missing what? I did not read anything but praise over the "hacked" version that was not so much hacked and more of a exact copy. The version of 3.0 everyone has been using fixes so much and speeds everything up so much its insane. That on top of of fact 3.0 maps are still really old even if they are not as old as 2.0 so its better to use the "hacked" ezrider and get maps that are only a few months old.

Pretty much nothing after you update the software.

None of the files are mine. I just took all the information that was spread around and tried to put it on one easy to read place. I am sure you are better off with the new files instead of the bigger files but i cannot confirm that.

From what i have read from looking around, this is what i have figured out

Teleatlas has better coverage for speed limits, and possibly even more POIs. It also shows roads in 3d like overpasses where it shows a shadow and you can see which road is which

Navtec has better maps, which i can confirm at least for here. Several roads that are not on teleatlas seem to be on Navtec around town here. Navtec shows things like overpasses without the shadow and may not have as good speed limit coverage.

Its really a matter of opinion from what i gather.

4. Replace your old EZRIDER file with this new one in the APL2/IGO folder

5. Add the World License to your APL2/IGO/License folder. This will not overwrite your old license just add a new one.

6. Overwrite all your maps with the new maps of your choosing from the 3rd step into APL2/IGO/CONTENT. Make sure you put all files in the correct location. .fbl into the MAPS folder, .poi into the POI folder, .3dl into the BUILDING folder.

you are done.

The tilt is in the SYS file and all you really have to do is erase the tilt value lines and it goes back to default. I went ahead and just put the map settings back to default totally which only has these two lines under the map code

As far as changing the car image back to the arrow i just went in my old data.zip file and got the arrow images and put them in the new data.zip and rezipped it. There is a whole thread about changing the arrows to a car image. You just do that in reverse.

I changed the car picture back to a arrow and put the 3d tilt back to normal. Now i really like this theme.

Seeing the sky looks really good but when you actually try to drive around like that it can be really hard to see anything at all.

Seems it does.. now i just have to replace the car pictures to my car or something that looks like my car at least.. maybe back to a arrow.

i was not looking forward to trying to add back in the info screen today. i will try to update my two downloads with that. This pretty much properly merges the speedcam mod with keeper now without losing important features.

The hardware bypass does the same thing.

You can use either the hardware or the software bypass. The software bypass just sets a speed you can go before it tells you that you cant use video. You just set it to some really high number you would never actually go. The hardware bypass just gets rid of it all together.

I will see about the option to add speed cams tomorrow when i get a chance to poke around some more.

Another note for the person above. You probably could just move the entire folders over and it would be fine. i would always think about making a backup just in case though. As far as other systems besides the f700bt working i cannot say because i can only test it on my own.

I just thought i would try to make a simple "copy over a few files" to make life simple. I do not believe you should have to know how to edit code or risk messing something up with the data.zip if you do not feel safe doing it so i made a easy zip file.

I made two versions one for the f700 which does not have MSN and one which is just the normal keeper mod. I tried to make this as simple as i could so i put everything you need inside the zip files. All you should have to do is move the files/subfolders from the zip to your unit and you will have keepers mod, speedcam mod and, warning message mod all installed.

2: Unzip the mods.zip file and put the files on a SD card

3: Move the files from the SD card to the unit in test mode. The zip already has the directories in it so if you cannot figure out where the files go then stop there

*Get rid of warning screen mod

Everything you need is included in this zip and it should be just as simple as moving a few files to your system.

I want to get it working myself but i do not really want to go back to pre3.0 software so i am hoping they get it fixed soon. Cydia type forums are where this type of thing should be discussed but there really isnt alot of threads about the 3rd party TV out programs for hacked iphones.

This seems to be a distance problem... If you zoom in the names are there or tilt and the names are there. Any of the expert data.zip editors know where a setting for the distance to draw street labels would reside?

I also am having a hard time trying to figure out how to make it when input a GPS route it shows my city instead of jacksonville every time. That way i have one less thing to input.

You do not actually have to do the update windowsCE with format.

I already had the new windows from the hacked 3.0 without maps from a few days ago and just deleted everything on the flash disk without formating and copyed all the new stuff from the torrent back on the drive and poof i have full 3.0
