  1. Yeh-I understand the limitations of it's poor memory. Wish I knew about this when I bought the thing. Everything else is great-Blue tooth phone/ipod interface/radio etc but the navi software is real third rate. A £100 Tomtom knocks spots off it without a doubt! Anyway me old mate thanks for all your comments-much appreciated Doug
  2. Hmm sounds a bit complicated to me. This is a link to a win CE device I modified some time ago. http://www.gpspassion.com/FORUMSEN/topi ... C_ID=44304 The process was made easier due to my PC being hooked into the device via it's usb port! Basically we stopped it booting up into GPS mode, then installed Tomtom and then made it boot up in Tomtom.
  3. Ok thanks for that. I suppose inserting a dvd of some sort is what they do at the service centre. If I could only stop the nav part from auto loading then look at the program I would be very happy.
  4. Is there a way I can hook my laptop to the avic d3 in order to see/modify the program? It's installed in my car so I suppose any rear coms ports will be hidden. Thanks
  5. Ok thanks for that. Should have started post there I suppose.
  6. I've used tomtom for years and find the pioneer system in my car a very poor substitute (just my opinion of course) . Is there a way to halt the program and load in tomtom. I believe it uses win ce? I have the software to do this and have converted a Navman portable GPS to tomtom with great results. Thanks in advance Doug
