  1. I have read a ton of posts and still haven't gotten anywhere. When I turn my vehicle on, the unit goes to my splash screen as usual, then goes to the screen that says something like "System is starting up" or whatever, then it goes directly back to the splash screen and repeats this over and over. Nothing ever loads; no music, no gps, nothing. I do not know what version of the software I have, but it is a reconditioned unit that I just got last month. I know absolutely nothing about manipulating software, so I really need someone to hold my hand through this!
  2. Since I posted, I've been doing some research and found out what you mentioned about can bus. So theoretically, as there is no acc power in the factory harness, I just need to find another wire that is linked to the ignition, right? The problem is that even the 12v accessory plugs (cigarette lighter, etc.) actually stay on at all times. Is there any other wire in the entire system that is linked to the ignition? What about the ignition itself? When I had a sub amp running off my factory unit, I found a fuse in the engine compartment that ran ONLY WHEN THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. This is a l
  3. Also, I need to know what color the wire is for the ignition power for the factory head unit. Apparently, the red wire on my factory-matched harness is useless. I thought that I had received a dead unit, but I spliced the constant power and ignition power wires and it worked! The factory radio had to have had ignition power, so if anyone knows which wire it is, please help! Thanks.
  4. I bought an AVIC-F90BT to go in my 2008 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. I could not get the unit to turn on. I followed all of the instructions I saw on here for the video bypass. Now, the seller wants me to use his technical support on Monday. I need to know what the "power" wire for the parking brake is. I'm sure they are going to ask me this. Can anyone tell me what color the wire is and where I can find it? Thanks.
  5. I did a ground directly to the chassis just to be sure. It's going into a 2008 dodge ram w/ 4 speakers. I've been doing installs for 15 years and have never had this problem. I think it has to be a defective unit. Thanks for all the help!
  6. I checked the fuse, and even hooked up my factory deck to assure that power was making its way to the connector. I do not have the speed sensor wire, gps antenna, or bluetooth mic hooked up. None of this should keep the unit from getting power, right? Again, I have the unit grounded, and with that ground I have the light green parking brake wire and the mute wire modded wire grounded as well. I am confused about the parking brake wire. There is a sticker on the unit that says to hook up the parking brake wire to the power side of the brake. What does this mean? Is it supposed to be grou
  7. I just got my reconditioned AVIC-90BT in the mail. I hooked the unit up using the hardwire bypass method (move the mute wire to the proper spot on the white connector). I grounded this wire with the main unit ground and parking brake wire (the light green one). When I hooked it all up, I got nothing. Am I doing something wrong? I don't know if the unit is faulty or if I am! Any help would be appreciated.
