  1. This is one of the few features I use but now every time I go to it, it says "No Data Available." It's happened about 9 out of the last 10 times. So, I know it' still available because of that one time...or is it?
  2. I have a BlackBerry and my contact list shows up on the HU with last name first. As a result, my voice recognition likes it better when I say last name first when I want to make a call. I had it first name first before, but now I can't get it to show. Any ideas?

Yeah, I am convinced that screen visibility has a lot to do with how the HU is mounted and the design of the dash. I never had this problem with my Tundra that came with stock navi (still the best navi IMO). A few of Subaru WRX owners with the stock navi have complained that the screen is hard to see. I think it's because it actually sticks out of the dash. The unit itself is very good, IMO, similar to Toyota's...probably made by same manufacturer...Fuji.

No problem. Great idea about tinting. That's what I'll end up doing.

Here's my video review: It still might be processing, so give it a few.
  6. Yeah, you just have to put it back in reverse. I have it demonstrated in this video about 2/3 through.
  7. The widescreen setting on the Z is basically the same as changing it on the ipod, but try changing it on the ipod and see what happens. Also, what does it look like when it plays on the ipod only?

I had an older Garmin (external) and it supported sending and reading (yes, it would transcribe your text message into voice). I didn't matter what kind of phone I had.

Just got it in the mail and created the first part of my video. I should have this done by tomorrow night, hopefully. I haven't tested it in sunlight yet, but just installed it. It's a pretty straight forward installation and no unusual frustrations with it. The kit comes with its own lint-free cloth, a little paper card to get bubbles out, and finger gloves for the installation. It's washable and reusable and it's pretty flexible. It doesn't seem to attract finger prints that easily either. At first glance, it doesn't effect the image quality; basically looks the same without t
  10. Hmm, okay, maybe I need to re-check what I did. Thanks for your reply.
  11. If I start from my main iPod menu where it displays all the tabs on the top and I go to video, choose my video, start playing, and finally shut off my car, upon next start-up, the video that was playing does not display on the screen even though the video information shows on the bottom and I can hear the audio. No matter where I navigate from there on and go back to the video does not allow me to see it displayed. Is there a trick to this? I must be missing something. It's kind of hard to explain in writing because I haven't played around with it enough yet to come up with a

I'll post up a video as soon as I get it installed and see how it is in various degrees of sunlight.

I got these from my stereo guy: http://www.amazon.com/Lexerd-AVIC-Z110B ... 746&sr=8-1 I'll let you guys know how that goes.
  14. I'll go check mine again to make sure
  15. You guys realize that the HU will list every variation of your contacts. In other words, if you have John Smith as a contact, it will show up as John Smith and also Smith, John on you HU contact list.
  16. It's possible. You have to have the camera hooked up to an AV source (e.g. AV2). You have to change the camera polarity on to "GND" and then go to AV Source and choose whatever you have the camera hooked up to. You'll get a blank screen. You have to put it in reverse and then out of reverse and you'll get the full screen view. You won't be able to go to any other screen or mode until you put it in reverse, keep it in reverse, and go to "home" and change the camera polarity back to "battery." See my vid here that shows this about half way thru or so:
  17. That's looks pretty clean and inconspicuous. I don't think it would work in CA since we have the entire plate filled.
  18. Hey guys, I decided on the PAC VCI-LPB. It's a license plate frame camera and I think it looks great. I made a little video of it here:
  19. They need to add a link to that 12-month trial statement that gives more specifics.
  20. Yeah, that's pretty clear right there LOL It took a while for me to find it though. The page format isn't the most user friendly, but I guess they have their bases covered. At the very least, they will get the hint that they need to change the format around a bit so you will see that page without clicking so much.
  21. Sorry to hijack this thread. So, I realized that in order for custom POI's to show up, the SD card must be inserted. No SD card = no custom POI's. That also means icons. And to have these show up on your map, you select them as stated above in VB's post. I suppose if you import a custom POI and that POI already exists on your system, they would duplicate on your screen ONLY if you have it selected both in "POI" and "Custom POI." To answer my question above, you cannot apply custom icons to existing POI's that are already installed on the HU. Can someone else confirm this? TI
  22. Also, for importing POI's, does it always need to read from the SD card or will the SETTINGS REPLICATOR transfer those POI's onto the HU's memory?
  23. I am familiar with that procedure. But does this add custom icons to already existing POI's in the system?
