What would happen if I tried to install the V3 firmware/map onto a F900BT bought from the US? Would it kill the unit?

Recieved mine today for my F500BT. However the item number is XXXX150. Any chance this is compatible with the F900BT?

Did Pioneer Australia finally release the new map/3.0 upgradE? http://www.pioneer.com.au/en/Help%20Cen ... mware.aspx I see that there's a mapping upgrade download avail...which you'll need to enter your serial number and the mapping disc code. Any one knows if this is 3.0?

Bloody hell I'm torn up deciding between getting a brand new X910BT from the states or a 2nd hand F900BT here in Aus for around the same price... GRRRH!

Yes you can, but you will have to find igo 8.3 Australian maps which might be hard, you can't use TMC (the American's use MSN and the extra tuner is not installed) and the radio might not receive all stations (the US uses .2 increments for the radio). Good luck mate! What about if I load the entire contents of my F500BT into the F700BT and then upgrade the firmware to the official 2.09? So basically if I use the American F700BT I lose TMC and possibly a few radio stations? I wonder if the savings are worth it...I mean, the X910BT can be had for ~$1000 AUD including shipping, or the

If I bought a F700BT or X710BT from the US, can I upload the Australian Map data onto it? Also, can the F700BT be upgraded with the v3 firmware in conjuction with Aussie maps?

Hi all, I'm thinking of buying a F700BT or X710BT from Ebay US and having it shipped to Australia. Question is - will I be able to override/update the existing mapping data with the Australian maps without any hiccups? I've got an existing Aussie F500BT - I'm thinking of backing the data up from that and upping the map into the new F700BT/X710BT. Is the new X series worth paying for over the F series???

Sorry to ask again, but does the OP's mods work on a F500BT?
