I am having some of the same issues... except mine is not locking up. Whenever I reset my unit's settings it re-enables the backup camera. My unit came with the 2.0 software, I then did some of the hacks and then ordered the 3.0 update, but I got sick of waiting and ended up installing on of the hacked 3.0 versions, which worked fine. I then used the retail 3.0 update from pioneer, which also seemed to have worked but for some reason I didn't have to register to get my password. So, I am wanting to do a full rebuild or downgrade back to the original 2.0 and then update straight to the retia
