  1. While trying to figure something out, I had the SUPER DUMB IDEA TO PRESS FORMATMBR ... your thread got me back up and running. Though I needed to also load the Disk1 image, this helped me get on the right track with DiskRW.

    THANKS a lot!

    Frisco,

I too performed the SUPER DUMB IDEA TO PRESS FORMATMBR move. What exactly did you do to resolve this? What's disc image 1?

  2. Go into the regional settings and set the traffic mode to MSN.

Sounds like you have a deeper system issue with the BT. Might try holding the reset button and eject button for 5 seconds to do a full reset. Otherwise start a thread in the troubleshooting section.

I figured out that it was my contacts after I performed a phone book transfer. I guess some of them had comma's in their names. I'd like to use my contacts, but not at the expense of not using the unit due to reboots. What exactly are the "illegal characters" in contacts? Email addresses? spaces? @ symbols?

  3. Photoshop is something that I cannot do. I have it, but I cannot for the life of me do what I want with it (Comes out looking like doo-doo :P:)

I want a custom splash screen (Boot screen) for my Pioneer F700BT double din.

I want this logo on the bottom all the way across:

    http://autoblog.ca/pub/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/explorer_logo1.jpg

(That ones really small, so if you can find a bigger one, thatd be great) Or just a font like that

And this pic for now of my Ex in it above the logo:

    SANY0067.jpg

And "302 V8" on it somewhere in a cool font.

I really appreciate this, its something ive wanted todo since I got my Ex, but I just cannot get good results on PS :)

Also* It would be really cool if you could crop out everything in the picture but the X, like they did with that Excursion*

    Something like this almost:

    bec4b66d.jpg

But I want the EXPLORER logo to be bigger, (Take up most of the bottom), and put 302 V8 to the left of the Ex(cursion), make my X a little bigger, and a nice 3D type ford logo like they have also.

Download the AVIC Feeds application for free. It has a Splash screen editor tool.

  4. I just installed the X710BT on my 4Runner a couple of days back. Everything works fine, iPod, Navigation etc, except the Bluetooth.

I am trying to pair my iPhoine with the unit. It connects for a brief 2-3 seconds and then the whole system restarts. It keeps doing that in a loop if I leave the Autoconnect function ON for the Bluetooth. Has anybody encountered this problem before? Please help. In effect the system restarts as soon as the phone gets paired up.

While trying to play around with it I managed to catch the following exception just prior to one of these restarts:

    Fatal Application Error JIT.exe

    Exception: 0xC0000005

    Address: 03FE10F4

Any help would be appreciated as one of the main reasons I bought this unit was for the hands free calling.

    Thanks

Let me guess, upi enabled your BT on the phone and it "pairs" and then reboots the unit. Also, sometimes giving you a JIT windows error in the middle of your screen? Not to mention, your unit will be stuck in an infinite reboot loop until you turn off the phone's BT?

Ive been there. For the past 2 years (1st unit F500BT, sold it because I thought the x910bt would not have the same issue). I was about to sell the unit on Ebay Saturday when I strolled across this post:

    http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/29747-avic-x910-software-3010100-extras-mods/page__hl__%2Bflash+%2Bdisk

Now, before I go on, I'm not stating this resolves the problem, but it is a work around.

I copied the contents of the x910bt download into the My Flash disk and rebooted the unit. Although it pairs up now without the rebooting, I have yet to attempt to allow the phone book to transfer. I'll try it on Wednesday.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the heads up about the traffic mode setting.

Yeha, I've been battling this BT issue with 2 different Avic's (F500BT and now x910bt). I had posted a thread in troubleshooting before, but everyone blamed my phone even though the problem occurs with ANY phone. I'm so fed up with this thing and Pioneer's useless tech support, I'm about to turn it into a wheel chock.

  6. To close the loop...the power harness had somehow came unclamped and was the cause of my issues. While I had the unit out, I went ahead and installed the PAC SWI-PS to bring steering wheel controls on my FJ Cruiser back to life. It was a fun project. Should be a quick and easy install but I managed to make it much more difficult with a resistor mix up. In the end, it's nice to have them functioning again but not sure it was worth the time I wasted. It is nice to have the VR button programmed to my steering wheel though.

Does it still reboot when you PAIR your phone via BT?

  8. There is something wrong with your unit. It should not happen at all let alone with multiple phones. exchange your unit. mine works fine with my DroidX, worked fine with my blackberry curve, works fine with my LG en-v3, and works fine with every phone my customers have had. (we sell mobile electronics)

I got a Droid X yesterday and thought the reboot issue was history. After factory resetting the unit and wiping the personal profile on it as well, it paired and rebooted. After coming back up, it hadn't rebooted until this afternoon. I'm calling Pioneer and will not take no for an answer.....

  9. I spoke too soon! Mind you, after getting the Droid X and pairing the device, I not only performed a factory reset, but also performed a personal profile wipe as well. After picking up food at Qdoba, I started the truck, watched the phone pairing and watched it revert back to the reboot cycle.... I give UP!

  10. If I knew, I'd gain about 13 days of my life back of off and on troubleshooting.......and I tried a different phone today (Non-windows mobile) and it still reboots. It gave me a jit.exe error in a windows error box in the middle of the screen for about 15 seconds and finally rebooted. I think my old F500bt and my current x910bt hate me.....

No one has the answer. The slimey bastard who I spoke to at Pioneer's tech support (While talking over me and with a condescending tone) the last time told me 2 weeks ago, that "Obvouisly, Pioneer does not have a product that suits your needs". I was livid. I will NEVER call their tech support again. Even though my x910bt is still under warranty.... :(

"It was the dukes! It was the DUKES!!!"

After getting an DroidX phone from Verizon, I must say it FINALLY WORKS WITHOUT REBOOTING! I swear, I thought Gabriel was about to blow his horn and call in for the Judgement, which would leae me no time to play around with it. LOL! However, it did reboot as soon as it paired the 1st time, but has not rebooted since then. 2 days....solid!
