  1. Thanks for the follow up! Pioneer doesn't do a great job of providing this kind of information to consumers. I doubt I would be able to take full advantage of the equipment without sites like this.
  2. I have a hardware Z110BT. I have applied the upgrade/update CNSD-210FM. I've read a number of threads here that help unravel the versioning confusion, including the pinned thread "New Traffic Tuner WILL WORK on a Z110/120 Upgraded to Z130" and it leads me to this... Is applying the firmware of product CNSD-210FM synonymous with 'Upgraded to Z130'? Or is there another newer firmware I need? (I've been looking for an hour I don't see anything newer). Looking the ND-TMC10 up on the Pioneer site it makes no mention of Z110BT at any update level... "The ND-TMC10 is included with the AVIC-Z13
  3. jrfuda thanks for the reply! I got away from this thread thinking it didn't get any response. It isn't exactly what I would have preferred to hear, but it sure helps me understand and measure my expectations. And yeah, it's all about my daughter on a rear seat monitor. She isn't really old enough to manage the transport controls and headphones reliably, but loves watching some of the animated movies (any Toy Story in particular), which makes it really easy to drive somewhere that takes an hour or more without her getting really restless.
  4. Can I send DVD/iPod video to the rear screen and use the vehicle audio system for sound? I took this for granted but am now starting to wonder. Using the information in this thread viewtopic.php?f=56&t=27178&p=205295&hilit=AV1#p205295 (very helpful) I'm mostly clear on what to expect and not expect after installing the rear screen for my youngster. Ideally, I will set her up with a video, use the car sound system, and likely have the GPS screen on the front. Let's say using AV1 as the rear screen source. Page 158 describes "AV1—The video and sound of AV1 are output to the “Rear
  5. Well, it is what it is I guess. Thanks for confirming. I'm glad there's a workaround now. My WRI-P and remote are ordered. Guess I'm waiting until that is done. Thanks.

    Mute vs ATT

Does anyone know how to ATT, not full mute, the Z110 from the front panel? I've only seen a full mute using the voice button. I really prefer ATT when fast forwarding/rewinding sections of music. I know the Z110 accepts the command as I have the PAC steering wheel controls with a Z110 in a second vehicle working fine. And yeah, now that I've seen the 'New IR receiver for Avic' thread (yeah, baby!) this will eventually become a non-issue, but I could sure use a workaround in the meantime. The vehicle I'm referring to has no steering wheel controls built in. Thanks.
  7. Excellent. Well, excellent that the problem is identified and has a remedy. Not so excellent that the dash will have to come apart to get at that very well concealed XM unit. Thanks for the quick response!
  8. Wondering if anyone has a similar experience they have solved. If I leave the source on XM on, say, station 20, and shut off the vehicle, when I turn back on the vehicle I am on station 001. Also, my XM presets will have disappeared (as though they hadn't been set). For all other sources behavior is what you would expect - e.g FM comes on where you left it, presets are persistent. Anyone have something like this with their XM tuner? Tuner is the GEX-P920XM. Any input appreciated.
  9. Won't call it a solution, but here's a couple workarounds. I've had the same problem intermittently. For me it's more reliable if I use the VR commands Help>making a call>call 1234567890. Works every time that way, as though the VR system knows the next command is call this number. The other workaround is the override described elsewhere in these forums, which also enables the dial pad while moving. As far as I'm concerned, that's a heckuva lot better than taking your eyes off the road and fumbling with a cell phone keypad (not to mention being illegal here in CA). I don't think the dr
