  1. You guys with that error screen. It has to be sent back to Pioneer to be fixed. Hopefully your under warranty.

BigCiX is correct, the unit will have to be sent back to pioneer for service..if under warrenty its covered if not under warrenty its like 100 dollars plus shipping to fix

  2. No, if you have both Bluetooth and CarPlay set up then the head unit will connect via Bluetooth whenever you do not connect the lightning cable. The problem is something else.

Are there volume settings for Bluetooth that need to be adjusted? I can't remember from memory... If not, I'd "forget" the bluetooth device on both the head unit and iPhone and start again. Good luck.

if you using maestro check the settings in the radio under OEM settings and make sure bluetooth is on..

  3. Hello guys,

I have a Pioneer AVH-4000 NEX installed since February this year and no issues at all until now.

5 days ago I received a phone call while driving and I notice that the Bluetooth of my car is not working, I didn't pay much attention and just turned off the car and turn on again so the unit goes completely off and then on again and the Bluetooth is back without issues.

Now, since 2 days ago, I have the same issue and doesn't seem to work again, the bluetooth icon is grayed out and after a few minute, the button from the menu is available but everything inside the bluetooth menu is grayed out except for reset the bluetooth settings (which gives an error if I click it)

    I tried:

1- Resetting the unit with the bottom right button using a clip (this didn't fix the issue)

2- I had the firmware 1.08 so I updated to 1.09 (firmware was done successfully but this didn't fix the issue)

3- I tried connecting the phone to use carplay, the first time after disconnecting the phone, the bluetooth came back and was working without issues until I turn off the car and now the bluetooth doesn't work anymore.

4- I have a bypass, I tried using a dvd movie and it works perfectly fine (just in case the bypass was not working properly, I assume that if the dvd movie plays then the bypass is fine)

When I go to Firmware Information it shows the firmware, the device number but the bluetooth firmware is blank. (when I tried number 3. using carplay, unplug, bluetooth worked temporarily), the bluetooth firmware version showed HW01-SW03.21.30).

There is an option to reset the unit to factory settings, if I click there it gives me "ERROR", same with resetting the bluetooth options, it gives me "ERROR"

If I switch to the Bluetooth option (to listen music using bluetooth) it gives me ERROR-02.

I called Pioneer, they say that I have to bring the unit, I just want to see if there is something that I can try before going that path, the unit is still under warranty but is mostly the pain of potentially be without the unit for 1 month. (if they have to order a part)

Everything else works perfectly fine, carplay, SD card, DVD movies, no issues at all except for the bluetooth. I didn't do anything, it just stopped working out of the blue.

I really appreciate all the help that can be provided.

  4. I am not sure about the issues mentioned above, I haven't experienced any of these symptoms , for the album art being faint in the background I really don't have an issue with it because if I go to the home screen the album art is perfectly display to the right all I have to do is click it and whats playing info is displayed with the album art. as for carplay not showing up in the settings, you have to plug the phone with the cable to initialize carplay and have it show up in your settings. as for wireless I am not sure its such a good feature, connecting wirelessly would drain your battery rapidly making you have to plug it in which is what you do anyway and the positive is your phone will be charging at the same time..just my 2 cents guys.

  5. i am running 8.3 beta and can say that carplay wireless does not work.i have the NEX8000...the response time and stability of carplay has improved significantly. you no longer have to unlock your phone to allow carplay to start on the unit..Bluetooth connectivity and sound is sharp and clear..they are improving just at a slow rate lol..

  6. I tried to format my sd card as fat but its a 16gig micro sd card and it does not support that high of a card..when formatted as ntfs the radio gives me the same error message as well as formatted as fat32..any suggestions anyone I am unable to update..thanks in advance

  7. When i turn the volume up fairly high (like over half way) on my NEX4000 and i dont have any music playing i can hear a whining coming through the speakers.  Anyone else notice this?  It doesnt happen on any other source, and is a contant sound rather than a sound that changes with the engine reving.  It does, however kinda sound like ground interference.  It cant be though cuz the sound is only through BT, all other sources sound perfect.

If you guys can confirm if this is normal or not that would be great!

I am not experiencing any of the symptom you mention

  8. hello everyone so far i am in love with my avic-8000nex even after having to send it to Piooner for warrenty repair..eitherway the question i have is is it me or does the 8000 does not have voice command navigation. i used to have an avic120 and i seem to remember i was able to activate the voice command and actually speak my address destination..

  9. i had the same issue where when i searched for stations on HD mode it would not pick up any stations it would just search and seacr. i had to purchase an amplified antenna since my OEM antenna was the culprit. once the amp antenna was installed and pluged in it works perfectly might be the same issue for you.

  10. it was an avic8000nex unit i  bought the unit thrue savinglots.com brand new in the box. not sure if they are an authorize dealer but i told the rep when she asked me where i bought it that i had no clue because it was given to me as a birthday gift by my father..she said ok gave me an rma number and where to ship it. repairs will be under warrenty.

  11. NOT AT ALL. MY RADIO RESTARTED ITSELF ONCE WHILE IT WAS IN ACCESSORY WITH THE KEY THEN

Its crazy it booted up initially just fine.then once I got to the eula screen the accept and or disagree button was grayed out..turned the car off turned it back on and viola software error screen popped up..now no matter how many times I reset and restart it goes directly to that screen

  12. hello everyone i am curios does anyone have installed any of the NEX unit on a '14 durango. i been scouring the internet for radio harness that are compatible. idatalink maestro dont even have one for the 2014 model and from what i hear the 2013 one does not work. any inputs would be greatly appreciated

  13. This is so weird...I installed my 110 about 4 months ago and never had any issues discussed in this thread..the voice recognition works perfect for me..my ipod picks up where i left off when i turn the car off along with the video..i have msn direct on my unit and it tells me when there is traffic ahead plus it suggests new routes..wonder why it does not work the same for everyone..uhmmmmmm
