I have been a Pioneer owner since 1978. I have always trusted their products and have thought that they are unrivaled in auto stereo. Lately though I have come to the conclusion that Pioneer obviously is only concerned with releasing the newest products without giving a thought to supporting the previous sold line of products. I will not upgrade to the latest AVIC product again. I have owned 3 generations of the AVIC and am tired of Pioneer's answers as to getting support to compatiblilty issues with my peripherals. They charge too much money for each upgrade.

Is this feature available on a Z120bt upgraded to the Z130bt?

I use an Otterbox Defender case for my Iphone 4. Works very well with the Pioneer cable. No issues whatsoever.

Is this change to Navteq only going to apply to new products or will they be backwards compatible for those of us that have already invested heavily on our current nav unit.

Well, I decided to pay the cost for the CNSD-210FM upgrade for my AVIC Z120BT Nav unit. To say I was disappointed in the map content would be quite an understatement. I was hoping to get updated map data in my city and county. My street address and street have existed for 6 years and was not included in the 2011 Tele Atlas map update. Neither is the main street that has existed since March of 2010 that runs adjacent to my neighborhood. Is there a way to access the OS of the unit to see what map version is actually installed on the unit to verify that Pioneer actually put upgraded maps on

You have to go into Nav Settings and change AV1 from Ipod to video.

I haven't been able to get AVIC Feeds to work on my Z120BT in any way. The icon on the unit is always grayed out even when I have my IPhone connected via the usb/iphone connection. The website for AVIC Feeds is almost no help. I have installed the software to my PC and the app to the iphone. Any ideas?

I have the Pioneer Pandora app and the normal Pandora app. If I try to start it from the Pioneer app it won't connect.

I finally finished installing my Z120 today. What an awesome unit. Much better than my D1. I played around with the Ipod adapter and my iphone4. Works like a champ. I can play video from my Ipod. I was even able to stream Netflix video through the adapter. Pandora plays great though I had a difficult time figuring out the interface. You have to start the regular Pandora app on the Iphone first before it will connect to the Nav unit. I did have to reset my amp input levels since the direct audio output of the Z120 is 4v where the D1 was 2v. The scrolling is a little touchy.

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately, it did change. Everything I've read indicated the VSS is under the hood somewhere. That's the $64 million question.

Does the usb ipod/iphone adapter provide battery charge current from the nav unit?

What about the backup sensor wire? Is it necessary or recommended to attach that? Thanks

I know this topic has come up in the past. I have searched the forum, but have yet to find a definitive answer. Does anyone know if the 06 Mustang GT has a VSS wire? If it does, where is it? Has anyone installed the AVIC-Z120BT without connecting the VSS wire and what was your result? Thanks.

The connector clips onto the end of the wire. It is removable on both antennas. I have swapped them already, but just want to know if the antenna is compatible and wont over-volt the gps receiver.

I currently have a AVIC D1 Nav unit. I am installing an AVIC-Z120BT. Can I use the D1's GPS antenna. My reason is the new antenna cable is too short to reach my current GPS location in the rear of my car. I can change the connector between the two. The cable is of the same manufacturer but I don't know if the antenna is the same. The D1 antenna has the letters EDE under it, while the Z120 antenna has the letters JGS. Don't have a clue what they stand for.

Yeah, I figured the nav traffic wouldn't work since the data cable port is not present on the Z120. Just concerned that the IP-Bus hasn't been repinned.

When you connected the XM tuner to the Z120, did you connect the red switched power cable? Are you using the IP-BUS to connect the tuner to the Z120? Lastly, I previously connected the GEX-P10XMT to my AVIC-D1. I just upgrade to the Z120. Do you get full station art and song info on the Z120 screen?

I just upgraded my AVIC-D1 to a AVIC-Z120BT. Will my GEX-P10XMT XM tuner work with this new unit. I haven't installed either yet.

Yeah, I assumed that the maps would be the most current. I just wanted to know how they would be updated. Currently use a DVD to update my AVIC -D1 and the disc must be in the unit to use Nav.

I've already performed a search on this forum and cannot find any info on this. How do you install updated Nav maps for the AVIC -X920BT? Additionally, how is the navigation maps stored on this unit? Thanks

That doesn't test the individual audio tracks. If the unit is not wired correctly you will still get sound out of each speaker but not necessarily the correct track from the original source format. I need a cd that will broadcast a test tone for each channel independently. ie: front left, front right, rear left, rear right, and sub woofer. Hopefully we have an audiophile out there that knows what I'm talking about and can steer me in the right direction. Thanks
