  1. I believe you are referring to the 2012 x940BT firmware and files that people are using to upgrade their x920/x930 units to the same software on the x940. That was a more complex method because Pioneer never officially released a software upgrade to those units until the 2013 maps were released. Now that 2013 factory upgrade allows you to seamlessly upgrade your unit, there is no need to follow the 2012 method for your device. All you should need is the link I provided. This is my understanding of it. I never needed to do the 2012 update since I have a x940bt.

  2. I noticed that after the update I lost AHA radio and Pandora.  They aren't on the scroll wheel anymore?

OK, I thought you had installed 5.1. Aha and Pandora both should be there in 5.0. Try a hard reset (disconnect battery for ~ 30 seconds). That sometimes fixes these things.

Also, if you are using a Windows or Android smartphone,  be sure your App Connection is set to BT. And iPhones only work with wired connection. However, I don't think this would make the icons disappear.

I had the same issue. I use the bluetooth connection with Android on my Galaxy S3. I updated my X940BT to 5.0 without the icons disappearing. When I updated to 5.1 the Pandora and Aha Radio icons disappeared. To get them to show up again, turn off any audio source currently being used, then go to settings, av settings, app connection. Change the app connection from 'ipod' to 'others'. Your icons will now show up again. If the app connection options are grayed out in the av settings screen, that means you have not turned off the audio source yet. These settings cant be changed when an audio source is in use. Since 5.1 firmware is really meant for iPhone lightning cable users, I am guessing they designed it to default to that setting.

  3. I just upgraded from a F90BT to a X940BT. The colored cables with the black connector that connect to your car specific harness is the same. The only difference I noticed is the blue cable is for the power antenna signal on the F90BT and the RCA harness has the blue/white cable for controlling the external amp.

On the X940BT there is no blue/white on the RCA harness. The blue/white is on the black connector and can be used to control both the power antenna and the external amp. Of course if you use the harness from the F90BT you would end up using the blue cable for this function since it is the same exact cable as the blue/white on the X940BT.

The RCA connection is different as mentioned earlier.

The cable for connecting the phone is different. It has a usb connector and a 3.5mm female audio connector.

I used the same gps and mic from the F90BT.

  4. Hi, I would like to get my Z140BH installed. Could you please share you friend's info?

    Thanks, D

This thread is from 2009 so I dont think they will respond but I would recommend Car Trix in the Ironbound in Newark. They do great work and are helpful.

  5. I am having the exact same issues. When I start the car manually with the key, the SD card resumes from the last song it played. If I start my car using remote start, the SD card starts playing the music from the beginning. I was sitting in my car while turning on the remote start the other day to try to see what was being done differently that could be causing an issue. It seems like my car is putting in more effort when starting when I use remote start. So it may be that the voltage is dropping. Also, the illumi color doest save my custom color when I do a remote start, it goes back to the random color cycle; it will save a factory preset color though. But the color issue only started with firmware 3, it used to be fine on firmware 2.
