Here's the findings:

1. When I run the ezrider.exe, I get this error "Program application database cannot be found" This is the same error that flashes for a second when I boot normally.

2. I had only 13MB space left on Flashdisk. I deleted Alaska, Hawaii etc to create some space. Tried installing the mod 3.2.1 again and it worked like charm.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am looking forward to exploring the new features. I wish Pioneer includes these UIs in their future units

Interesting. Seems three of you are having this problem. Lets do a couple things. Can you also reply with what install method you chose (looking for menu option # based on device and location).

 

Delete all save files. You can do this on your own or let my testmode script do it. Its one of the options at the bottom.

 

1. Easiest way to see what is happening is in testmode. Once there navigate to my flash disk\apl2\igo and double click ezrider.exe. That will load it so when it generates an error it should pop something up. Can you let me know what happens?

 

2. You very well may have ran out of room. Check to see how much free space your unit has. Select the flash disk in explorer and then go to the file menu and click properties. Check to see how much is free.

 

3. As another test can you verify that all of the files that are in my distribution made it over to your AVIC? Look in the mitacap folder in my zip file and see if each of the files that are in there are on your avic.

You need to make sure that you are running 3.0. That is the reason it is not working. Did you make a backup of the flash disk before you started modding? There are a lot of links out there to get the 3.0 files. Definitely get the files to update to 3.0 and once that is done run my installer again. You should be all set to go.

 

EDIT: Use this link to update to 3.0 and then after that is done copy all of my files to an SD card and boot off of that. Dont worry that this is for a 90. The files are the same.

I am having the same problem as lordjohn. I am pretty sure I was on 3.0 or 3.1 I was running your mod version 2.3 since last summer. After installing the new mod, I am stuck on the startup screen.

Hello. Newbie to the forum here.

 

A week ago my stock X910 was stuck on the Pioneer splash screen. I fixed it by updating to the FX3.1 update/mod found elsewhere in the forum. I had to delete Alaska and Hawaii maps in order for the update to fit in the units Flashdrive. After those states were deleted the mod installed fine and was working well. This mod looks like a huge improvement so I couldn't leave well enough alone.

 

First tried the 3.2 mod - I believe it copied over correctly (got a big green "+" on the screen). However after rebooting it's stuck on the "system startup" screen overlaying the menu. I can go into the Audio selection menu and choose a valid input (say FM) and the unit will play. However trying anything tied to the Navigation side will freeze the touchscreen up. And whether I try to get into navigation or not the unit will reboot after a few minutes and the cycle repeats itself.

 

Thought maybe the new 3.2.1 update would help. Only difference I saw is the finished copying screen now shows a green box instead of the "+" sign. Also the icons in the Audio selection menu that I don't have hooked up are colored instead of greyed out. Navagation still won't start.

 

The first time the unit boots up after updating there's a WinCE error of some sort that flashes VERY quickly on the screen. I think one of the words in the error is "object", but I'm not sure. It's not on the screen long enough to read. Subsequent boots after that don't have the error.

 

Any ideas? Possibly not enough space for the mod to fully copy over? I don't think WinCE gave any error when I tried to copy the full maps over in the FX3.1 update, so I'm not sure there would be any indication if the files didn't fully copy over. Or maybe that's not it at all? Did a search for "reboot loop" but only a couple of threads came up and neither seemed to fit.

All I can say is the navigation interface still looks like it sucks, EXACTLY like on the Z110BT/Z120BT, and I'll never be buying another Pioneer in-dash unit after having to deal with the step backwards my Z120BT is even from my F700BT in terms of navigation.

I haven't used the newer units, but they seem to be just like the F700BT that I have. Here's a list of things they can do to make their units better:

* More intuitive menus - learn from Diaftia and other mods

* Responsive UI - like the one on iPhone. There shouldn't be a lag between a button press and unit's response

* Capacitive Touch Screen

* Traffic receiver - like the one that comes with Garmin units - with free traffic

* Voice Recognition - It doesn't work 90% of time. Also, when I try to call someone, the unit doesn't confirm before dialing. It just calls the name it thinks I said, which like I said is mostly wrong. I tried Ford sync and it is way better. Also, voice recognition doesn't work for media on SD card or CD. Why is that?

* Fix Bluetooth handsfree - instead of switching back to phone, my unit disconnects the call when I turn ignition off

* Allow 3rd party apps

One more question - Before this mod, the highway signs for lane guidance used to be dark green and opaque. Now they are lighter shade of green and translucent. Is there a way to switch back to opaque background? Do I need to replace a file?

You probably have full screen cockpit turned on. Turn that option off.

I recently installed this on my F700-BT. I had installed update 3 before but was having some issues so tried this to start from scratch. Install was very easy and all the updates work as described.

Here's my only issue so far (and this was there in my previous 3.0 install too):

When I turn on the ignition, sometimes, the unit gets stuck on map mode with the cursor (the little red circle with cross-hair) on it. I can switch to AV screen, but I can't do anything else on the map screen. Even when I press the Map button, the screen doesn't change. Then, after 30 seconds or so everything goes back to normal.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Actually I tried playing a .mp4 movie and it played fine on F700bt

I used WinX video converter (http://www.winxdvd.com/video-converter/)

Settings used to convert:

Convert to MP4

Original size and Keep Aspect Ratio

Video Format MPEG4

I left everything else to default settings and it worked like a charm.

I only played one clip though. Haven't tried converting the whole movie

PS - the same mp4 file can also be added to iPhone/iPod and played on the unit

I watch movies all the time on my F700BT unit via SD card.

 

If your movie is on a DVD, you have to use a software on your computer to rip it to your hard drive and convert it to AVI format. Click here for an example of such software.

 

The following avi parameters works well.

DivX or XviD codec

Video resolution 640x480 or less

MP3 audio

File size less than 1 GB

 

Any movies with extension .mp4, .mkv, .mpg, .mpeg, or .mov will not work. Also won't work, HD videos (720P, 1080i/p), .vob files from DVD, .ISO or .3gp videos from your cell phone. Some avi's have AC3 or multi-track audios muxed with DivX or XviD encoded video. It will play the video fine, but no sound. Some .wmv won't work either.

 

Another thing about playing video on the AVIC unit is that it doesn't fill the whole screen. I've tried all the settings already. The video playback option is very limited on the AVIC.

I have seen so many posts up here about the Apple theme and I myself and an Apple guy. So instead of waiting for one, I figured I would start my own. This will be mainly an iPhone like theme (as it is a touch device). I will be working on this over the course of the next week or two and hope to have it complete by then. Any feedback would be welcomed as I will post pics as I complete the initial mock ups.

 

I just upgraded my 700bt to 3.002 and this will work with the F-series 3.0 when complete...

I haven't seen either of these issues in last couple of days. I installed couple of mods after this issue and one of them might have fixed the problem.

I downloaded and installed this on my F700 yesterday. So far I am enjoying it. I have noticed two issues though -

 

Sometimes when the map screen loads, it is a static screen i.e. it does not move when I drive the car. When I press the Map button, the map screen becomes normal but sometimes I can't even press the map button (see below)

 

The second issue it that sometimes after booting up, the nav unit becomes unresponsive for a while (about 3-4 minutes)

 

I'll give an update in a few days - maybe it is just a temporary issue.

I recently installed f700 and this forum has been very informative for me. I see great potential in this unit.

On this forum, I have seen a lot of mods for the navigation screen but I haven't seen any for the AV screens. I use Nav only when I am going to some place new. While driving in the city or commuting to work, I am usually on the Disc or iPod screen.

The Disc interface is decent but I want to make it more useful. It has some wasted space, some information is displayed multiple times and some information is redundant.

I want to know if someone has ever tried to mod the AV screens. I went through all the .ui files but didn't find any for the AV screens.

I am not good with programming but can do Photoshop skins for the mod.
