has anyone figured it out how to re-post the original x910 file because i am pretty sure that is the problem. is there a fix for this. can someone help. thanks

I have an issue with the Navigation screen now showing up correctly. Everything is there but map data. The compass thing that represents your car, the menu on the right side, everything except the actual map, it is just blank. Everything else seems to work though.
The only issue I can think of is when I was copying the files over instead of copying the contents of My Flash Drive from one folder to another I starting copying the contents of the whole SD card to My Flash Drive on the unit. I noticed after about 5 seconds and hit Cancel. I assumed Windows backed out any changes but I may be wrong.
EDIT: Someone else had the same problem and was able to fix it by "Re-installing the hacked ezrider file did the trick". Any ideas on how to do that or any other resolution?

Just go through the process again from start to finish and your good to go. The upgrade of the firmware formats the disk

One thing I did this time instead of "select all" is I only selected the FOLDER of my flash drive.
Go Into the My Flash Disk FOLDER, and copy the contents of this folder to the My Flash Disk drive.

not sarcastic at all, i was genuinly saying thanks as i must have just missed it when skimming through the 52 pages, i know it's anoying having to keep posting the details which is why i am greatfull. I hope the install goes smoothly.

I doubt your going to find anyone who will actually create a video for you...instead you should buy the cards from Pioneer and get their support if needed.
2nd, not to be demeaning, but if your really that computer illiterate that you can't follow two excellent articles that have been written on this subject and are still on page 1...then maybe you shouldn't be performing this process...you should contact Pioneer for the official version so they can offer you the support you will/may need in order to get this process completed.

hey I got the two .rar files from megaupload. but when I decompress them I get errors from the flb extebsuib maps Tennessee and Texas and it doesn't show any other states after that alphabetically. Anyone else have the same issue?
Try downloading the files again, or do an md5 sum on the rar's to ensure they are not corrupt. (I posted the MD5 hashes in the 3.0 update thread on page 40 something...

I went ahead and deleted the entire contents of the real my flash disk folder and then recopied the correct files. I'm proud to say that I finally am running 3.0 and just upgraded to 3.0201. Also, I went ahead and used Carver's "no warning for gps" mod..Everything is working smoothly!! Was it worth it? You better believe it!! Again, thanks for the help!
Glad to hear! I would like to take this opportunity to stress (again) that at the point the instructions say to copy files from your SD Card to your unit, only copy the contents of the "My Flash Disk" folder on the SD Card, to the "My Flash Disk" Drive on your Avic unit.

You may have corrupted files. What PC are you using to extract the files? Some report issues when using a Mac.
If you do not have the proper sequence during the EJECT, RESET, MENU,MAP button sequence the unit will not stay in the update screen. Check files and try a reload.
No Mac in my home! Just PC for me. I followed instructions precisely, however, I may just have corrupted files perhaps? I would like to start over, but I find it difficult due to inability to access Windows CE mode again nor can just update via SD card when inserting with version update and starting up car. I may be S.O.L...Not too sure how I can unbrick when system keeps shutting down via both ways of updating.
Place only the testmode folder from the extracted files onto an SD Card, that should get you into WinCE once you turn the unit on.
I posted the MD5 Hash in my original post on page 40-something, see if your hash matches
Last but not least, make sure you copy the contents of the "My Flash Disk" folder on the SD Card to the "My Flash Disk" drive.

All of the posts I needed were correct. This article got two AVIC units updated in about 30 minutes to 3.0...why should anyone pay you $60 for whats posted here already for free?
And once there on 3.0, why is there a need to pay you another $85 to get to 3.02 which is a 5-10 minute process?

Ok befor i get gung-ho and make my self a paper weight.
I have DL'ed ITguys rar's In step 9 it says to copy flash dump to the card. Where is that file. I am showing DumpFiles and Extradumpfiles.
Or am i just supposed to Copy the DL'ed My Flash Disk and overwrite "MY" my Flash disk on my avic

Copy everything that was extracted to the SD Card.
Then when you put it in the AVIC, you copy the contents of the My Flash Disk Folder to the My Flash Disk Drive.

50 bucks, huh? Or everyone can follow simple instructions and READ all of the posts listed on this thread and do it yourself and SAVE your money and donate it to the fine folks that have countless time and effort making the mods.

i dl'ed the 2 rar files from megaupload, extracted the 1st one which automatically extraced the 2nd. Are these correct files or corrupt files?
That would be correct. Its a multipart RAR file so by extracting the first one, it knows to automatically move on to the next file.

can someone please confirm as to whether or not there is supposed to be something within the "Dumpfiles" folder that we are to copy to the "My Flash Disk"?
That folder is supposed to be empty.

Found them, Thanks. It would be nice if they were just fixed on the fist post then it would alleviate these problems. I do appreciate it though.
I'm not the op, so I can't control that. However, in general it makes good practice to read through the entire thread to see what issues anyone else is encountering if any (So you can avoid them), or if links to files are broken they may be updated later on in the thread (So you can download them).

i thought i completed this install perfectly fine.....however, at the end, when i must hold the reset and eject buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds ad then release....it still reboots in windows. ive tried reinstalling everything from scratch, and i get the same issue. ive read over 100 pages of the different tutorials, but i am not finding an answer to my problem. i am using the files from the post on page 40. i used one SD Card. hopefully someone can help me out. (ill gladly donate)
also, the first time i did this, i did not hear the pop in speakers or the disk drive reload (im using f900bt)...but i was able to move forward with the process so i didnt think anything of it. also, during my first attempt, i did not get the "replace all files, yes or no" box. however when i did it the second time, i did receive this.
UPDATE, i deleted everything in my flash disk, and pasted the new flashdisk from my storage card. now the system reboots, and keeps rebooting. my splash screen comes on for a little bit, then reboots....keeps doing it over and over again.
Remove the SD card at the end of the install. This is what causes it to go back into windows.
Regarding the update, retry the process again...it does this if it doesn't find the files in the appropriate spots or if the files are corrupted.

3.0 is great... response time is awesome...no more pressing buttons again and again...

i have a f700 need help to update it. i downloaded testmode v2.rar from another post, downloaded the 3.0 udates (which are two file) from another post, from the mega up load (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K0WJSCUR
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XDPTH67G) i downloaded the winceimg.bin & winceimg.cks also from another post.
now this is what i did- i turned on the unit when the pioneer logo when on i hit menu, map, ejct and the reset button i got to the blue screen, then hit the sequence to get in the service menu. when i got there i put the sd card with the wince files in it. selected update ce, then update sd format, then on the bottom of the screen said to reset the unit, i put the other sd card in with the testmode file i it, hit the reset button and thats it thats as far as i got.
wen the unit reseted itself the screen was blank nothing came on the lights were purple and then it would just turn off. now i cant get to my main screen play music or anything. i can go to the service menu but that it. i tried redoing the upgrade but the same thing. need help asap. thank you for ur help emial me if u want jbustos88@yahoo.com
Have you tried the testmode folder included in the MegaUpload files you downloaded? If so, have you checked the MD5 has to ensure the files aren't corrupted?

If your seeing the test mode, after you removed the SD card and after the reset then you copied the entire SD card to your unit. Start the process over and only copy the CONTENTS of the "My Flash Disk" folder on the SD Card to the "My Flash Disk" drive on your unit.
