  1. If your seeing the test mode, after you removed the SD card and after the reset then you copied the entire SD card to your unit. Start the process over and only copy the CONTENTS of the "My Flash Disk" folder on the SD Card to the "My Flash Disk" drive on your unit.
  2. Yep, read the rest of the thread and you'll find new links.
  3. Just go through the process again from start to finish and your good to go. The upgrade of the firmware formats the disk
  4. Go Into the My Flash Disk FOLDER, and copy the contents of this folder to the My Flash Disk drive.
  5. Glad to hear! Hopefully the install does go smoothly, but if it doesn't there's a whole community here to help =P
  6. Thanks heaps I really hope that's not a sarcastic comment...The links are there and it seems that I (and others) have to continuously post links or references to where there at because others cannot take the time to read a thread.
  7. Review the last few pages of this thread. Links are there somewhere

How HUGE is huge? I might be able to help out =P
  9. If you would've read my earlier post: 2nd, not to be demeaning, but if your really that computer illiterate that you can't follow two excellent articles that have been written on this subject and are still on page 1...then maybe you shouldn't be performing this process...you should contact Pioneer for the official version so they can offer you the support you will/may need in order to get this process completed.
  10. Try downloading the files again, or do an md5 sum on the rar's to ensure they are not corrupt. (I posted the MD5 hashes in the 3.0 update thread on page 40 something...
  11. Glad to hear! I would like to take this opportunity to stress (again) that at the point the instructions say to copy files from your SD Card to your unit, only copy the contents of the "My Flash Disk" folder on the SD Card, to the "My Flash Disk" Drive on your Avic unit.
  12. No Mac in my home! Just PC for me. I followed instructions precisely, however, I may just have corrupted files perhaps? I would like to start over, but I find it difficult due to inability to access Windows CE mode again nor can just update via SD card when inserting with version update and starting up car. I may be S.O.L...Not too sure how I can unbrick when system keeps shutting down via both ways of updating. Place only the testmode folder from the extracted files onto an SD Card, that should get you into WinCE once you turn the unit on. I posted the MD5 Hash in my original post on
  13. How about making your own thread then instead of spamming others? All of the posts I needed were correct. This article got two AVIC units updated in about 30 minutes to 3.0...why should anyone pay you $60 for whats posted here already for free? And once there on 3.0, why is there a need to pay you another $85 to get to 3.02 which is a 5-10 minute process?
  14. Copy everything that was extracted to the SD Card. Then when you put it in the AVIC, you copy the contents of the My Flash Disk Folder to the My Flash Disk Drive.
  15. 50 bucks, huh? Or everyone can follow simple instructions and READ all of the posts listed on this thread and do it yourself and SAVE your money and donate it to the fine folks that have countless time and effort making the mods. Exactly...how much do you wanna bet that he's using the files I provided Maybe I should start charging for each download =P
  16. That would be correct. Its a multipart RAR file so by extracting the first one, it knows to automatically move on to the next file.
  17. That folder is supposed to be empty.
  18. I'm not the op, so I can't control that. However, in general it makes good practice to read through the entire thread to see what issues anyone else is encountering if any (So you can avoid them), or if links to files are broken they may be updated later on in the thread (So you can download them).
  19. Seems I end up posting this page after page.... Look back through the last few pages and you will find some links I posted where I uploaded the files to megaupload.com 1500+ downloads and counting with no issues....
  20. No worries. Glad to hear that your up and running again =D
  21. Remove the SD card at the end of the install. This is what causes it to go back into windows. Regarding the update, retry the process again...it does this if it doesn't find the files in the appropriate spots or if the files are corrupted.
  22. There are valid links in both threads on this subject...personally I used this thread/instructions with no issues: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25817 The links in the main post are invalid, but they are there in a later post/response. I doubt your going to find anyone who will actually create a video for you...instead you should buy the cards from Pioneer and get their support if needed.
  23. They weren't my instructions, I just posted the files but thanks anyways!
  24. Might want to try reading through the rest of the thread then...new links are in there somewhere =D I spent days looking for these files to upgrade my unit, yet people can't spend a few minutes to read through the rest of a thread?
  25. Have you tried the testmode folder included in the MegaUpload files you downloaded? If so, have you checked the MD5 has to ensure the files aren't corrupted?
