  1. Before the update, when I was talking on the phone connected to bluetooth, I could control the volume of the background music. Up, down, no problem.

Well there is no way to do that on the 110 so I would really like to know how you were able to do it. Regardless, sense it can't be done on the 110 it also can't be done on the 120.

Same here! Can't do that on z110...

  2. I will donate bandwidth to a torrent. PM me if anyone is interested.

Yea you have enough band width to host the world.

Actually its the upload speed that counts when seeding..

    Here's mine though:

I have an LUS fiber connection with 30 megabits/sec up and down so I can def torrent this also!!

  3. I am currently using the z110 (without 120 update) with an iPhone 4 and everything works fine EXCEPT whenever someone calls on Bluetooth audio in my car. It seems to have a clearer reception and voice clarity for the person on the other hand but when I put it on speaker phone or iPhone speaker (instead of Bluetooth audio), I continue to hear my ringtone ring over my car speakers. It's hard to explain but basically if it's over Bluetooth audio and someone calls it works, but if I switch my audio output preference to iPhone or speakerphone, it continues to ring as if I never picked up the call. Hopefully they issue a fix for this! If anyone knows a workaround please let me know!!

  4. in a new Gen (III) Prius, put the thing, and after connecting the antenna amp (which is needed), still see reception that is not as good as our other cars - yes - the Prius has bad reception - but I have run a random Chinese radio in one that gave great reception. The Pioneer is average.

Has anyone had reception issues? Did HD help? I know Pioneer says do not y signal the HD radio, but I'm thinking that may make sense (this way you can also just switch to analog when HD is on the fritz)???

I'm just trying to tweak the thing to work - changing hardware (car antenna) is out - this has been done, troubleshot, and found lacking.

I'm getting close to losing faith in the powers that be....

Before HD Radio, My AM/FM reception was OK/terrible. Now that I have HD Radio, nothing has changed. Reception possibly could have gotten worse.

  5. i love my xm and yes i mostly listen to it but i dont mind putting in the 100 or so to get it just want to know if it is worth it what does it really do do you notice a drastic difference over the normal radio? again sorry for the questions just there is not much to read about this feature

No, there is no drastic difference over normal radio. If anything, when it switches from normal to "HD" I can hear the radio station volume automatically turn lower once it fully switches over.

  6. I previously had XM radio on my Avic-D2 in my old car but then I canceled the subscription because I got a new vehicle and upgraded to the Z110BT. I left the XM component in my old car so I no longer had it. Now not having it, Yes i think XM radio is well worth it and I definitely should not have canceled the subscription.

I got HD Radio installed when I got my Z110BT instead since it was free. BUT, HD radio is worthless unless you live in certain bigger cities (google HD radio stations to find how many your city has) and have a lot of HD radio stations. I did not do this prior to installing this component so now I have an option of three HD radio stations which are all equally terrible music and will never ever ever use until my area (Lafayette, LA) gets more of these stations so I just use the FM function from within HD radio (since AM/FM is turned off).

  7. Can anyone that has upgraded from 110 to 120 tell me if anything from MSN direct or HD radio has changed? I own both of these and think their could be a lot of improvement done in both areas. I've read up on everything that has been updated but haven't seen anything that would change these two add-on components. Anyone?

  8. I have the HD Radio for the Z110BT and it SUCKS.

After getting it installed and googling some local HD Radio stations, the ONLY thing I notice is the sound getting LOWER on HD stations and did not get any quality improvement in sound. Also when saving the "preset", they DO actually save, but the name/title/radio station does not show any text on the preset list selection. But if you click on the blank selection, they actually are saved in memory. Just a buyer beware -- if you want to waste 100$ on the hardware and then waste more time or money installing it, then get this HD radio add-on.

Summary if you don't feel like reading the above statement:

    PROS:

    -NOTHING AT ALL

    CONS:

-No improvement or HD sound quality (actually sounds worse, since it lowers)

    -no preset list titles

-no extra text characters show up (same as FM stations, so basically did nothing)

-disables the AV sources AM and FM (can only select HD)

  9. Is it possible to play DivX files of TV shows downloaded from torrents? Do they play full screen? They're usually fairly low resolution, despite having "HD" in the filename (I think that just means the source was widescreen HD).

DivX playback won't be useful for me if I have to do any reconversion.

Also, I assume the Z110BT will NOT play VOBs or support DVD Menu?

The TV shows from torrents can work depending on how you convert the file. Like others said, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried a number of video formats that are in the manual as "compatible formats" (.mp4, .avi, .mpg, etc.) but that all depends how you convert into the formats and what video source it was from. I actually made a red hot chili peppers live music dvd with a DVD Menu and it worked fine when burning to a DVD. I also found that the DVD format is a little easier to get stuff to play on the Z110BT then on an SD card. But burning a DVD is soooo much less convenient (and also wastes a whole dvd if it DOESN'T burn properly/lags) then uploading stuff to my 16GB SD card that I can always change up..

  10. OK, so I have the Z110BT. When I upgrade to 120 software, there will be no differences right? Why would pioneer do this ? Wouldn't people just continue to buy the Z110BT and then upgrade the software since there are NO hardware differences? I LOVE the changes to thew Z120BT software and can't wait for the pandora radio!
