I have been trying to use an external hard drive for music and movies, but just keep error message. Says UNSUPPORTED DRIVE. Any thoughts.

my 90bt's touch screen keeps shutting down. sometimes it will go a week, sometimes an hour. i can still use the menu and map buttons but that is it. i have to push the reset button and then it will work again, until it acts up again. has anybody else had this problem and if so is there a fix, other than sending it in????
