Howie, I have exact the same problems have done the same things without any result i hope that the new HD will work and if you can let me know this i will be very pleased.

if i put a new hdd in it will i get back my text for gps back or will it be the same there is a person in the netherlands who sells hdd with the latest maps iám considering to buy a new hdd

Thanks, i used the files from this site not that from the pioneer site ("AVIC-HD3 Freezing issues for AUSSIES!") is this the wrong firmware if yes can i update again with the official firmware from the pioneer site?

Hi to all, I live in holland and have a hd3 (z2 in the states) had the same freezing problems could not find anything in europe until i found this site (great site) so i found out that i can use the firmware update for Z2 updated the hd3 without any problems the freezing is untill now not happened but there is a strange thing that i cann't find the text in the gps menu disapeared i see only the icons without text it is realy difficult can anyone help me.......Does the Z2 firmware update anything with fonts... Belodic
