  1. Thanks for the reply! This is the only thing that bothers me as I said. One other thing I read the manual & searched this site, but couldn't find an answer for this. I was messing around scrolling on the map & noticed that if I put the cursor over a POI it would tell me what it was. For example I scrolled & placed the cursor over a 7 Eleven & was then able to touch a tab on the screen that gave me the address & phone number for that 7 eleven, but I couldn't do anything from there? Is there a way to tell it to give directions to the store or even call the store being it
  2. Is there a way to use a different map service like you can do with some units? Any possibility they fix this when the update comes out?
  3. This unit is great so far, but I just can't get over the fact that it lacks heavily in displaying major cross streets. The other unit I had which was a Kenwood would let you know the next street coming up & everything even when not using route guidance. I like to know what major cross streets are coming up before I get to them especially when I'm in an area I'm not familiar with at all. It sure does display little streets in the neighborhoods I pass by when crossing any intersection which is really NO HELP AT ALL! Even in our company car if I'm driving I can look at the factory nav &
  4. When we fixed my map day/night problem we put a 3.3k 1/2wt resistor inline with the remote turn on & I no longer have any pop at all when I turn my car on. It's nice & quiet now just how I like it.
  5. Thanks for all the help guys we tapped into the orange wire when we pulled out the ashtray & now the map switches to night when the lights are turned on. We tested the orange wire & it was putting out only 5v, but either way it does what it needs to. I guess it doesn't need to be 12v for this function to work.
  6. Does anyone have a nice selection of Lincoln backgrounds for the z110bt? I would like a few different options specifically one with a black background as to match my black paint & interior. Thanks!!!
  7. Ya I agree the manual clearly says the orange/white lead has to be connected for this function to work. I have no clue how multiple guys on there say their day night work & they don't have the wire connected. I know on my Kenwood the wire didn't need to be connected & it always switched to night when it should. The problem is we connected the wire to the harness, but it's not working. maybe it's connected to the wrong wire.
  8. I'm being told by the guys on my Lincoln forum that the wire doesn't need to be hooked up for this function to work. Here's the post from that forum: The AVIC switches between day and night view based only on the time of day and your location. The illumination wire doesn't affect it at all. The illumination wire switches the brightness level of the display. You get only two brightness levels (both selectable in one of the menus). Ideally, you would connect the illumination wire to one of the parking light feeds since that would work correctly no matter what the instrument dimer sw
  9. It's hooked up, but day/night doesn't work. Maybe it's hooked in the wrong spot I'm not sure everything else seems to be fine.
  10. I have the illumination wire hooked up, but the map doesn't switch to night view when the lights are turned on. I have the setting on Auto so not sure what the problem is... The z110bt is hooked up in an 03 Lincoln LS. THX!
  11. !st post but been reading the site for a while. What size resistor is needed to get rid of the factory sub pop when the car is turned on? I just want something to do something simple that I can put in line with the remote turn on wire & not have to do the 276-1770 - Model 7805 that I read about on here. I'm going to Radio Shack & just need to know what size resistor I need. Thanks!
