I agree, you almost have to be a professional programmer to undertake any of these mods with even the slightest chance of success with everything explained in code and techno mumbo jumbo. There are people here that would like to participate but have a very much reduced level of computer skill. Not the most helpful of forum I have come across on the Internet that's for sure.

My mistake.

I agree. I have read many threads on modding and hacking the AVIC units and have found these forums highly geared to the experienced programmer. Members are largely unwilling or too busy to explain without sarcasm to newbies how to get started. Before you point me in the direction of the pinned threads I have already looked over at them and I just must be really stupid but they might as well be written in Greek.

Map hangs occur on stock unit too.
