but if you dont know what tapping or grounding is then you may want to get it professionally installed or a friend who has some knowledge on how to install stereo equipment

no problems here with my scion tC/d3/pac swi ps

- "menu" button needs to work

- better search on my ipod (would be perfect if I could search my ipod like it is with POI search)

- Album art

- visualization (trippy colors ftw)

- direct selection for videos of ipod

- easier browsing of mp3/divx cd/dvd like a file browser

- support for more video files like .mpg

i dont have fancy xm/sirius/bt so I can't really say much on that end and havnt used my navigation enough to say (gas is too expensive nowadays blah)

imgburn works great.. its free and a small file size

i never owned a d1/d2 but I am guessing its the same thing as previous models

yeah im running stock and sound much better than what stock head unit.

and I am using PAC SWI PS with mine. It works fine but pressing the buttons doesn't instantly respond. Seems like you gotta hold the button a second for it to respond.

where's the vss wire located at on the scion tc?

For my 06 .. i found the easiest location was using the HVAC controls. Tap into the orange wire pin 14th from the left looking at it from the top.

If you're getting an ipod mainly for the car (like me) it doesnt really matter how thick/thin it is. It also doesnt matter how its interface performs, since you'll be controlling it through the headunit.

not if you wanna play videos off the ipod as you must select the videos through ipod itself. music mode will allow you to control the ipod through HU itself.

quality looks decent.. even better when the video is at 640x480

easiest and best way is to get avox jukebox which is a portable hd that can play a bunch of multimedia files and has a nice interface. Bunch of reviews on google.

but if u want to play them through say cd/dvd. Either convert them to DVD mpeg 2 format and make a DVD video. Or convert them to divx format and store them all in cd or dvd.

D3 has its own interface with arrows in all directions and an enter button. User the arrows to navigate and select what u want and press enter. Takes a bit to get use to.

best thing I would recommend is a device like the Avox Jukebox

got my Pac Swi PS installed. Does your take a like a second for the button to register that its been pressed? Like mine use to be instant but now I gotta hold the button down for like a second.

When you go to "video" mode can you play a slideshow w/ music from your photo collection?

yes the photo slideshow will play on d3

- kinda hard if you have lots of artist to get to the x,y,z artist

I HAVE AN 06 TC AND I JUST ORDERED THE D3, DO I NEED TO GET A WIRING HARNESS? DO I NEED TO GET THE PIONEER IPOD DIRECT WIRE OR CAN I USE THE ONE MY SCION ALREADY HAS? DO I NEED TO GET ANYTHING SPECIAL IN ORDER TO USE THE STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS? I JUST ORDERED THE HEAD UNIT, IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I WOULD NEED TO BUY, THAT DOESN'T COME IN THE BOX, IN ORDER TO INSTALL AND BE READY FOR USE.

technically you don't need a wiring harness but its much easier with a wiring harness and you don't need to mess with stock harness. You can not use the scion ipod directipod cable as it's completely different to the d3's. As for steering wheel controls, you will need to order the Pac-Swi-PS. Turn caps lock off also

i used imgburn which is free and worked great
