Hello, great to see you stick with your mod. I wonder if I may ask a couple of noob questions.

I updated mine to 3 about a year+ ago, but it has become corrupted and laggy. I dont know what is the matter so I want to do a complete fresh update.

I have the F900bt (with black knob) so regardless what is on it now I would like to use your your mod since I like the look of primo and agree that I prefer smartzoom, it is essential near busy junctions (and I don't want to see the sky). I do like chrome better though.

It is a long time since I flashed mine so a little confusing to see so many options, but I just want to wipe it and have a good clean install with the latest wince (non buggy)

Is this a good idea or not. I have all backups from my last old install, inc old maps.

I am in the UK and use tmc

I've a few issues with my f900 unit but it is working, if a bit buggy, outdated and slow. The problem is so many fixes and mods available now, new & old, its difficult to know where to start, and I think people are just having a stab at different fixes. I only just managed to register last week but lurching and leeching for couple of years and though least I could do is upload what I have. Because I tinkered a few times with flashing my phone I learnt very quickly to take time to back up and copy everything.

So I have all my old back ups and files, to also upload if needed. (where do you upload to?)

But I just wish I could remember what I do to update my unit . Bugger when yo get old...

Hi like many here again I too have forgotten how to do most of these mods, but I last did an update before unit fitted about 18 months ok.

NO faults as such but my unit has become VERY slow and lags. Takes a few minutes to boot. Sometimes it freezes and takes a few minutes for any button press to catch up. Then it goes into a route direction mode by itself.

I've deleted all logs I can find and tried a reset but hasn't helped. Sometimes it takes forever to start up. No boot loops or anything but it seems the cpu is on 1/4 speed. ??? I've got into explorer mode and realised I have more maps than I need but there also seems to be plenty of memory.

I've thought about bringing it up to date again but reluctant to use official updates and get all the nag screens back

I'm also lost and out of touch with what is actually new here any more or just continuation of old mods.

I just want a good fast basic unit that at least does what its supposed to.

I think this should work. I haven't tested it as I just got a hold of the new maps and a hack and don't want to screw anything up. Hope this helps

Hi guys, followed this thread about 2 years ago when I first had my f900bt and successfully updated my unit. It was a great how to, and has served me well. So thanks to the OP for explaining and packaging everything needed back then.

But my unit has become laggy and corrupted and everything now seems outdated. I think it needs a refresh. Its a UK f900bt updated only with original info and files from this thread.

But although I still see lots of mods and 'updates' on elsewhere in different threads and posts for different regions I'm more confused to what is an update now in this thread or are they just a repeats of original mods. Hope that makes sense.

Is the original info in this thread still relevant to updating with latest maps and firmware March 2012 ?

Has anyone pulled latest bits & pieces in to one how to again ?

Hi finally been able to log in woohoo. FANTASTIC forum thanks to all. (has kept me entertained many an evening)

Reason Im doing so now is to ask about UK maps and if possible ask that somebody who manages the forum ?? could you please in some way encourage everybody who posts something or a link to say for what country / region they're for.

I'm just trying to get my head around doing all this updating again as my unit is getting tired and laggy. But its doing my head in reading through thread after thread to find its all about a fix / patch / map etc that's only good for a certain area (and usually not mine )

Edit: just to add I guess many 'how to's ' may be general or cover all regions, and if so it would be a pleasure to know that, meaning users can fully appreciate and make use of all the hard work that goes in to helping others by not thinking its for somewhere else and ignoring it.
