  1. Are you using the same ground for all wires? Or different grounds for everything? I have one ground running from my HU into the harness. The parking break, "mute wire" for bypass, and ground are all soldered together and connect via one wire to ground, ensuring that the ground reference for all 3 wires is the same. If you're using multiple chassis grounds then there could be a slight voltage drop on one of the wires thus throwing off the HU. Use a single ground and that should take care of your problems...solder things together if you can rather than using wire nuts or something simila
  2. I just installed something very similar on my 2009 F-150. I looked at the install instructions for the camera...guessing it's this one or similar: http://mobile.audiovox.com/backupcameras/?sku=ACA200W If they followed the instructions then they connected the power wire for the camera to the reverse light on your truck. They need to move that wire to an auxiliary source and they should be good. I'm guessing the reverse signal from your truck is good if the HU automatically switches over to the camera when put in reverse and switches out automatically when put into any other gear.
  3. For the camera to work how you want it to work it needs to be wired to auxiliary power so that it's always supplying video when the car is powered on. The head unit needs to be connected to the reverse wire so that it knows when the vehicle is put in reverse and will switch over to the camera. However the camera is always supplying video, the HU just isn't showing it 100% of the time. So now you can go and click on the "Rear Camera" option on the HU and it will switch to the camera input (which is always supplying video.) It sounds like the camera is currently powered by a reverse
  4. Instructions on this site work great BTW. I did the bypass on my unit no problem. Took all of 5 minutes. Jared
  5. Do you have the Pioneer iPod cable? The only way to get audio out of an iPod is with the Pioneer cable (or hooked up through Aux or BT). With only USB you'll get control of the iPod but no audio through the unit (or video.) With BT you'll get audio but no control from the HU. Streaming audio over BT works (as you've found out ) When you bypass you'll get the ability to play DVDs and other video while in motion as well as access to punching in an address while driving...drive safe Jared
  6. You should be able to have both. But it depends on how the installer installed the camera. If they wired the camera power to your reverse trigger wire then it will only work when in reverse. The camera should be powered from an auxiliary input and the reverse trigger should tell the HU to switch over to video. It sounds like your camera is powered by the reverse wire. Hope that helps. Jared
