  1. As far as TestMode, I want to make sure you are doing it right. Download the file from http://avic411.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=15233 then unzip it and place TestMode.key in the root of a FAT32 SD. Then insert it into your unit. You don't press any keys to start testmode. If nothing happens, turn off and on your unit with the SD inserted.

However, without knowing exactly what you did, it is hard to say how to fix it. BTW, I hope you never installed Condi's HackMode. That is a Trojan Horse that has been known to brick some units.

  2. I have a z140bh in my 2005 4RUNNER. It worked great until it didn’t. Last thing I remember before the unit started to crap out was that I purchased a new iPhone and linked it to the unit. While I was in settings pairing my new phone, I wanted to declutter the users on the unit so I deleted all the previous users on there leaving only my phone in there. I must have deleted the main user which caused the unit to stop booting up past splash screen.

What do you mean by "deleted all previous users". Are you talking about deleting the BT pairings? Contact? Those aren't users. How did you delete the pairings? I thought the only way to do that was to flash BT firmware. There's nothing you can do from the BT settings to cause this except if you tried to flash BT firmware that wasn't successful. You weren't in TestMode were you?

  3. I own a Z140bh

Did the shortfuse and it worked fine.  4gb card

Used 16gb card next to install- and asked for password- I tried AVIC411S and PASSWORD - both did not initiate update.

So umm what is the password?

Did you do the ShortFuse script, or did you manually edit the DLL file? BTW, don't re-run the script - just in case. It saves the original DLL file(s).

Most people use PASSWORDPASSWORD but I didn't think it mattered what you entered. There probably is a minimum number of characters. Let us know if that doesn't work.

  4. Should be just 2 directories (FIRMWARE, UPDATE) and CardInfo.CIF (the correct one for your model).

You didn't follow the directions. I don't know how it could be simpler. What password did you use to extract the ZIP files?

Unzip the map files again. Be sure to enter the zip password 'Dracarys' including the single quote characters. If you do not enter the password correctly,  some of the files will not unzip and the installation will fail. I'm getting tired of having to post this again and again.
  5. Thanks a ton Ron, you are a gent. I am unzipping and testing tonight.

I managed this mess because i tried to use script for installing the two translated language files and an image, but i didnt do it correctly.

Do you happen to have that zip too?

The image i had messed up the display and the control buttons making the use impossible!

Sorry, I can't help with that. I really don't follow the MRZ or F series except for generic issues that are common to the US Z and X series.

  6. Sorry missed your respnce befor I re posted.

I missed the violet wire all connected now just can’t seem to find any info to sort the speed signal, wire

Even nipped into local dealer found extrewmly unhelpful

    Great.

As far as VSS, many people don't connect it. It does increase the speed accuracy over short distances because it is an immediate reading - similar to your speedometer. It also helps with dead reckoning - such as when driving in an area without GPS satellite reception (like tunnel, parking garage).

In case you don't know what it is - it is to be connected to some signal that pulses (on/off) at a rate proportional to a wheel's rotation. It might be once per tire rotation, or many times - as long as it is constant. rate per rotation The head unit will learn over time (using GPS location) what the vehicle's distance-per-pulse is.

But each vehicle's wiring is different. In my case, I had help from someone who knew my car's electronics. I think it was at the control unit for my speedometer. Anoth possibility is your ABS controller. See if you can get your vehicle's wiring diagram.

  7. Hi thanks for the reply..

The rear cam is wired Live to reversing light wire. Grounded black

So only need it on when reversing

    Rear light. Work ok

The cam works ok when in reverse but only when I physically select it I the menu

But annoyingly 7 out of 10 times is freezes on that screen and I have to hold the map button to get it running again

Can’t seem to get it to auto bring on the cam when reversing ( same as my other car) different unit)

The only wire left not connected on my wiring is the speed wire as I have no idea where this connects on a new vivaro

Go to Settings/Navi Settings/Connection Status. Look at the Back Signal line. It should say High or Low. With the car running shift into and out of reverse. The setting should change. If not, the reverse wire isn't connected correctly.  It also give you a hint on how the Polarity needs to be set in the camera settings.

What happens when you do this? Does the Back Signal status change?

To be clear, Do you have two wires tapped into your backup light wire? The red from your camera and the violet/white wire from the head unit?

BTW, I don't know what unit you have. It probably doesn't matter since most Pioneer units work on the same principle.

  8. He to all

    I have an F920BT with 2.000000.

I start the ShortFuseScript and remove the SD, i insert the Map SD and than comes the massage " something is wrong with the Installation.... tray again"

I press a lot of times "tray again" than comes " Update in progress" but nothing happens...

I change the SD, cardinfo, format the SD...

Now i have no idea more.

Thank you for your help and sorry for my english

Since you give little detail of what you did and it is hard to make sense of your description,  I'll guess that you are getting a message saying something about incorrect SD. I've never seen that message so I don't know exactly the words used.

I recommend unzipping the map update from godzillz again. Be sure to enter the zip password 'Dracarys' including the single quote characters. If you do not enter the password correctly,  some of the files will not unzip and the installation will fail.

  9. Hey guys. 2017 maps are here for F10/F20/F920/F9210/F9220BT. Here's a quick guide for installing successfully.

    1. Format a SD card (4-8GB) in FAT32

    2. Download this file, unzip contents and move to the root of SD. This the ShortFuse hack to overcome registration for personalized password.

    3. Insert in your Pioneer and follow on-screen instructions

    4. When finished move the SD contents back to your PC. It includes backup files in case of issue (but you will have no issues if you pay attention to all the details).

    5. Delete all contents of SD, or format again

    6. Download maps from here

    7. Unzip using password 'Dracarys' exactly as you see it, including the single quotes. Copy-paste to be sure!!

    8. Move all map contents to the root of SD

    9. Download and replace this file in the root of SD. This is the proper CARDINFO.cif file for F10/F20/F920/F9210/F9220BT family.

    10. Insert SD in Pioneer, follow on-screen instructions and enter PASSWORDPASSWORD when prompted for a password

    11. Be patient for 25 minutes, then go for a ride and enjoy!

Why are you posting this here and an identical one in the 2017 thread?  You aren't adding any new information. There's already a 2017 thread with detailed instructions. And there seems to be dozens of people posting their own instruction summaries. The problem with posting summarized instructions is - while they might make sense to experienced people - they leave out details. I'm probably going to clean-up and delete many of those posts unless they add value to the discussion.

  10. Hi, So i did all that RonS mentioned and I did manage to update the firmware of my bluetooth and I thought I update the firmware of my device but after double checking it appears that I still run 3.0 version and yes I am running 3.32 bluetooth. What happened here? lol does the file updates the bluetooth firmware but not the device?

I did all of this on my x930bt unit.

    Thanks in advance!

No idea what went wrong. Not gonna waste any time thinking about it since this is old software. Try installing the 2017 version. Just run the ShortFuse script first.

  11. Is there a setting I’m missing..? As I have to select camera as my reversing cam does not come on automatically when reversing

I have checked I have it in the right port (brown)

    Iv tried changing polarity.

Wiring. Grounded black. Live from reversing light wire

    Any help greatfull received. .

    Could be lots of things.

You can tap into the positive side of a backup light, but then the camera only works when you are in reverse. I ran a +12v wire from the fuse box so the camera is on whenever the ignition is on.

I'm assuming that Settings/System Settings/Back Camera is set to On.

Make sure your backup lights are still working (you might of blown a fuse).

So, what happens when you go into reverse? Does a blank screen open that says something like "Objects may be reversed"?

If not, make sure your backup detection is working.

This test only works when the camera has a separate power wire (not powered by a backup light). Go to Settings/Map Settings/View Mode and select Rear View. When you return to the map screen you should see a split screen, with the camera image on the left. If it is black, your camera isn't powered or not connected correctly.

  12. I am looking to buy this truck and the description says it has a Pioneer AVIC Z-3 stereo system.. What exactly is that??

Why don't you just google Pioneer AVIC Z-3? You'll get a lot more info directly from Pioneer than from someone here. You'll even get the user's manual.

Then if you've got specific questions, I'm sure some user can help you out.

  13. Hi

The update ran up to 51% followed by a message about an invalid SD card.

What to do next - because the radio does not work :(

    I have Avic F9220DT

Why are you installing the 2015 maps when the 2017 are available?

To recover the use of your AVIC unit:

    1. get TestMode.key from HERE; unzip and copy TestMode.key to SD
    2. boot into testmode by inserting the SD into your radio.
    3. go into File Maintenance.
    4. remove the file USER\SYSTEM\Download\StartKnd.log

this will kick the unit out of upgrade mode, and should restart into regular mode on next power up (remember to remove the TestMode SD).

  14. RonS, I've tried the shortfuse easy version on my X9310BT running V6.0, the installation went smooth without issue. I put the map update on a separate SD card which contained the 3 files Update, Firmware and Cardinfo, cif that came with the download, when I insert the map update SD, it says wrong SD card. I managed to use testmode to kick the unit out of update mode. I don't believe I have the right Cardinfo.cif, and now I'm stuck as the Cardinfo.cif I've used came as part of the download zip, any ideas please.

If, when you insert the map update SD, it  asks for a password, then your CardInfo is correct. Once you get past that, the only thing that can go wrong (besides the car's battery dying) is a problem with the SD files. Since you are posting in this thread, I assume you are installing the US/Can maps. So there is no password needed to extract the zip (as there is in the EU map zip).

The Cardinfo file you need is the one that came with the map zip.

Sometimes the unzip program can cause files to be corrupted. Are you using a PC or a Mac? Also, some people have had problems caused by the SD format. What size SD are you using? I recommend a 4GB formatted FAT32 with default cluster size (on  a Windows PC). An 8GB one should work but someone said they had to use a 32K cluster size instead of the default.

  15. hi all,

step 1: download shortfusescript.zip and  2017 update file : OK

step 2: unpack shortfusescript on a fat32 SD card :   OK

step 3 Run script on F9310BT ( just place SD card and touch a key when asked.) : OK

Step 4: unpack 2017 update on at least 4GB sd card with  new cardinfo :     OK

step 5: place sdcard in F9310BT and restart and ……….

No Boot possible on my  SD card

test with another SD card and same result, the audio files copied to this card work perfectly

    Thanks to all

Try the map update with the original CardInfo.CIF   Replacing it doesn't make sense for a F9310BT since the godzilla files should support it as is.
