  1. Hi! If I have an F940, can I install these maps instead of the EU ones?

    Thanks!

Don't know. You could try and let us know. No harm if it won't install. But you probably would need the CardInfo file from the F series F40/F940 release. Be aware it won't change the DVD region and probably will keep the EU FM radio frequencies (which isn't  a big deal since US only uses odd (ie 99.5, 99.7...)

  2. I'm also having trouble getting the navigation to actually speak. The guidance volume is on and not muted, but the system does not give any vocal direction when enroute, the beep when pressing a button is also absent whether it's turned on or not.

Do you have both front and rear speakers connected? If not, it is possible you have wired it so that the rear channels are the only ones connected. Guidance audio only comes out the front speakers.

  3.

Hi Guys here is the password the mail server is getting overloaded I do not want to see this being shared on any other forum  apart from this one as i have done this to help everyone on this forum because its helped me so much in the past please respect this and hope the master PIONARA helps out

But we'll still get hundreds of posts asking for the password and/or complaining that it doesn't work.   HINT: " 'exactly' as shown".

  4. I have an easy way to install the ShortFuse hack with no TestMode,  editing or patching involved. I've tested as much as I can on my unit. So I'm releasing here for you guys.

Just download this attached zip, unzip, and copy the 3 files to the root of a blank fat32 formatted SD. When you insert it into your AVIC it runs a script that will backup both your existing RenewalIFLib.dll files, then overwrite them with a pre-hacked one. If, for some reason, this  doesn't allow installing the 2017 maps on your unit, the backup files could be manually re-installed. But that isn't really necessary. So it should do no permanent harm if it doesn't work. However, I have high confidence it will.

When you insert the SD, it will prompt you to press any key (button) to continue - or - turn off the ignition to abort.  If you decide to abort, just turn off and on your unit - then eject the SD. Nothing on your unit will have changed. But in order to re-run, you'll need to re-build the SD from the zipped files  (since Testmode.key has been deleted off the SD). Unless some error message is shown, there is no reason to rerun this script. You will just overwrite the same files.

Otherwise, it will copy your original RenewalIFLib.dll files from USER/PRG0/APL and USER/PRG1/APL onto the SD and rename them RenewalIFLib.dl0 and RenewalIFLib.dl1, Then it will copy the pre-hacked RenewalIFLib.dll in their place on the AVIC unit.

Note: this zip has a special Testmode.key that should only be used to run scripts. It isn't the supertestmode version that allows running the maintenance menu. Also, to prevent over-writing your backed-up original RenewalIFLib.dll files on the SD, the script deletes TestMode.key on the SD.  So if you insert it again, nothing will happen.  It can only be run again with manual intervention. Don't try rerunning it unless you know what you are doing. Overwriting your original RenewalIFLib.dll files on the SD isn't necessarily a huge problem, but it might make recovery (in the unlikely event it is necessary) a little more difficult.

Oh yeah, you'll still need to download and run the map update and enter the dummy password PASSWORDPASSWORD when asked for the Pioneer password. This should work for the US and EU maps.

Important NOTICE: You must be a registered user of AVIC411 to download files hosted on this server. So register first - then download!

  5. I added a backup camera recently. Multimeter shows connection to backup light has power. Plugged into Rearview camera in on the head unit.

Problem: won't show the rear view when car is in reverse. After much searching, I found a box in the online manual that says to go into the settings and turn camera view on.

When I try that, the settings button is gray. Only the AV and Audio buttons are colored.

What do I do to get the settings button active?

    Thanks.

    Parking brake.

  6. Going to try this tonight! Finally not dying. On another note, anyone tried this with the x920/z120 cif file? I have a buddy with a z120bt who im trying to convince to try it but he doesnt wanna be the guinea pig

Well on the F Series forum, they were successful installing the EU v7 on F20BT and F920BT. So the US should work with the correct CardInfo file.  I posted it earlier.  Make sure he follows the BT instructions in the installation manual - especially if it has old BT firmware ( < 3.10). If your bud has any issues connecting to iPod/Phone or other wired/wireless apps, do a hard reset and make sure App Connections is set correctly. I had to do that to get some things to work correctly.

  7. It is a problem that I have installed navi.exe before change Renewfile.dll and install 2017 Maps?

From the instructions on installing Nag Screen hack: "Note: Install the 2017 map update before installing this hack. Do not patch the file on the 2017 installation SD before installing the 2017 Update. If you do, the installation will fail."

Similar warnings are found in the ShortFuse hack instructions. I guess I write detailed instructions for myself to read because so many people ignore them, or repost incomplete instructions that others pick-up and use.

If you are new to this, don't blindly follow those "it worked for me and this is what I did..." instructions.  They are just summaries and leave out important warnings and details. Read the full ShortFuse and Nag Screen hack threads in Z Series Z110/12/13/14/150 Hacks & Mods. Those instructions also apply to most F series.

  8. Hi, finally I replaced with HxD, copied with testmode. Insert SD with 2017 Maps, choose PASSWORDPASSWORD, BUT WHEN AVIC RESTART SHOW ME "wrong sd card insert right sd".  Help me PLEASE!!

The most common reason for  "wrong SD" is because you modified a file on the SD. CardInfo,CIF (if necessary for your model) is the only file that should be changed. The second most common  reason is an error reading the SD. Reformat the SD FAT32 then extract the files from the original zip and try installing again.

  9. I tried it with the original sd and got the same error.. going to try your dll here if i get enough strength

If the problem is with a corrupted RenewallFlib.dll then the original 2017 SD won't fix it. When you get rested, try the one I sent (I hope you downloaded it because I deleted the attachment from the post. It had about a dozen downloads, but I didn't want everyone using it.  I didn't want dozens of babies crying if it didn't work.

If you have success I'll post it for everyone. If not, zip-up your original DLL and post it.

  10.  step by step:

    1. MMC 1GB fat32 copy two file testmode and NAVI.EXE

    2. MMC 4GB fat32 copy MAPS2017

We run the device in mode and look for the file in the directory USER\PRG1\APL\Navi.exe  and delete it later copied from the memory card Navii.exe then remove the card and insert with maps. Do I understand correctly?

Sorry for the mistakes but I use the translator, I'm from Poland

Forget about Nag screen until you get 2017 installed. Read the Shortfuse hack instructions http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/83535-map-update-hack-using-shortfuse-method-z110-z140x920-x940/

  11. Hello, I followed the instructions but on RenewallFlib.dll the HxD doesn't find "0350A0E3". What I have to do? Thanks

Why don't you try following the detailed ShortFuse instructions instead of this abbreviated summary. Sounds like your problem is with using HxD. Also, when using Find or Replace make sure you set to Hex Values. It defaults to string data type. Also, put spaces between the hex bytes (a byte in hex has two numbers....03 50 A0 E3).

  12. It boots up, enter the passwordpassword then it reboots, and then gets that error.. it wouldnt go that if it were not fat32

It sounds like you modified a file on the installation SD. The only change to SD files would be to use a different CARDINFO.CIF  if necessary. I hope you didn't replace RenewallFlib.dll on the installation SD. I'd just extract the whole thing from the zip (we know its good) or use the original unmodified one you bought.
