ok can i extract the shortfuse zip and the update on the same sd card or should  have 2 different? thanks for your patience

First install shortfuse (read the 1st post in that thread). Then you can reformat and use the SD for installing the maps. Do not try to do both at the same time. Do not have any files on the map SD except the files extracted for the 2017 zip. Do not modify any of those files except if you need to replace CARDINFO,CIF. If you don't know what I'm referring to, read the thread.

Thanks for your reply but the problem isnt the password , all Ndata in the folder are extract  except Ndata1 and Ndata2 hope my pictures explain you the problem

I don't know what the problem is. I just downloaded the file and unzipped it with no errors. The files  NDATA.001 and NDATA.002 are there. You seem to be the only person to be having this problem.

Okay, thank you. This method seemed easier to me. I do not know if I could upload the files listed here in the forum correctly.

No need to upload anything. Yes, you'll need to do some reading and put more effort in to using the files here. There is a thread started by user godzilla that has everything you need.

Hello, has anyone tried this update for the same Pioneer Avic f920bt that I have? Is it a simple plug and play as it is written? Thank you

I hate to see bootleggers make a  profit selling pirated software. You can get the same maps free just looking around here. Or you can give them your money and hope for the best.

    You are right RonS,

no need for Testmode to update the BT.

After the maps update I tried the 'Firmware update' button under the 'Bluetooth Settings' (once it became active) as per instructions.
All to no avail, after a good 10 minutes of trying to start the update process a message is displayed in the lines af "an error occured and the update failed".

So I am curious to hear about any other method of 'jumpstarting' the BT, perhaps by copying/pasting files directely in their respective folders using Testmode.

It might help to know what the content of the BT-folder should look like using Testmode.

I schould mention that the BT-module test using Testmode fails. So obviously there is something dodgy going on in there...

Reading your other post, it seems you were saying your BT was not functional even before installing the new maps/BT. These BT modules have been known to fail. I remember seeing some for sale recently but I don't remember where. You can do a Forced Program Write of the BT firmware. I suspect the actual drivers are stored in some other file system not directly accessible via Testmode file maintenance.

See if you can find a Service Manual for your unit. I have one for a Z110 which also is a manual for TestMode. There are several diagnostics for testing the BT module. Here's the Z110-BT Service Manual

just wondering if anyone can help me....

    I'm running map2015....

i ran this script first ShortFuseScript.zip

then unzip the Pioneer_T1000-25818 on my sdcard using password avic411s

plugin my micro sd.. nothing happen...

im able to upgrade my bluetooth firmware no problem though

    i have x930bt

    Two most likely guesses:

    1. You don't actually have a X930bt. What does it say on the face?  Loading 2015 maps doesn't change that model number.

    2. Something is wrong with your SD. What files/folders are in root? What size is the SD? Is it FAT32?

Unfortunately the bluetooth update did not fix my limp BT.
It still reads --------------- under BT version. As if there is nothing there to update from.
Do any of you know what files need to go in which folders using testmode.key?
    If at all possible..

Thanx again to the Headunit Grandmasters!

You don't need testmode. The BT firmware for this release is on the SD in the \Firmware directory.

You didn't give any detail on what you did and what went wrong doing the BT update through BT settings.

  8. Hey just a couple questions regarding this.

    I currently have a z130BT with firmware 3.0 and BT firmware 3.22.

From what I understand I would have to follow these steps to update to the current 2017 firmware/maps:

    • Run RonS's shortfuse hack script to prepare my unit
    • Format the SD card and put the contents of the zip file that nezfotnemom posted in post #26
    • Insert the SD card into the unit and run the steps
    • Done
I've read through the manual and some of this topic and noticed that RonS said iPhone lightning connector support from patches 4.6 or 5.1. Does that mean that I would have to go from 3.0->4.6 to add lightning connector support, then 4.6->7.0 for current maps? In the installation manual for 2017 the only topic that talks about lightning cable support deals with Z140BH and x940BT, so how do I go about adding lightning cable support for my Z130BT unit on firmware 3.0

I honestly don't know what is needed for Lightning support. I'd suggest following Pioneer's upgrade instructions - upgrading a Z130 from the original firmware to 7.0. Don't forget to update BT drivers.

  9. Has any one had issues downloading the maps off Google Drives?  I can't get passed the page that says the file is too large to scan.  I click on download anyway and it just keeps going on a continuous loop.  No issues downloading anything else off of this site.

Works fine for me. Windows 10. When I click "Download Anyway" it starts D/Ling to my Downloads folder and displays the progress in the bottom left of my screen. The whole thing takes < 5 min on my 100Mb connection. Done by the time I write this message.

  10. Your Z110 is, and always will be, a Z110. It is in the hardware. Using the link above you can find out how to upgrade the firmware to the current versions (v7 and BT v3.32) and maps to 2017 versions.

  11. I'm in Vancouver BC Canada, sending it out seems expensive, there is a local shop, supposedly one of the best in town to deal with electronics, where would I have to send to if I decide to send it out? I think Toronto has a Pioneer repair center

I have no affiliation with Pioneer so I wouldn't know. I'm sure it is in their documentation or on their web site.

  12. Also this only happens once the vehicles been running for a while, turned off and turned back on. First thing in the morning or after a long while off it's fine, once you change the station or use another mode and then go back to the radio this starts.

So, that eliminates software and installation issues. The only thing left is hardware. Some component regarding the FM tuner is failing - possibly due to heat sensitivity. Seems the only resolution is the have it repaired.

Ok, sorry if this is a stupid question.

I bought a truck used that had the AVIC X910BT already installed.  I lost the contact info from the guy I purchased the truck from and I now just have the password screen up.  I've tried all of the generic ones to try and guess it with no avail.  I used this script with an SD card but all it did was copy over a system file to the card that I can't open on Windows or MAC to read.  I can't get to my Source button to just run the SD card to run the script to reset the passcode.  Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong?  Any help would be great.  Thank you!

I'm surprised it worked on a X910, that's an older model. If the script worked it copied a file to SD called PASSWORD.DAT. Then it deleted the file from the head unit, which should unlock your unit during the next reboot.

Windows doesn't know what to do with a .DAT file. If you want to view what's in the file, right-click and select "open with" and choose Notepad.

I'm confused - you just said you ran the script. What does "Source" have to do with it?

  14. RonS

I feel bad... thank you for looking into this.

I copied over the new no nag navi.exe but I think at this moment everything was selected, so what happened is that one file was pasted in but then-  with no chance to stop it - it start to delete everything else. So I needed to copy everything from prg1 or its app subfolder to the instance Prg0.

Lessions learned ... and I am happy that it still works at all!

So there is a risk that I have overwritten the update, at least I do not see the new functions( like the AHA configuration in the settings or the search box in the last cities) and I would like to reapply the update but it does not let me.

    With regard to your question:

Yes, I have a prg.flg file but it sits in the root= user\ (not in the prg folders)

I think I followed most of that. But I'm not sure what files you think were deleted or why. Were you doing a Delete or a Paste? Did you intentionally copy from one PRG directory to the other? If so, you just made things worse. You can't accidentally overwrite files with testmode.

What do you mean "I have a prg.flg file but it sits in the root= user\ (not in the prg folders)". If PRG.FLG is present, it would be in \USER along with the PRG0 and PRG1 folders. Than may be what you were saying.

OK, here's the first rule of hacking - have a backup. So I recommend getting a 16GB (8GB might work), and immediately use TestMode to make a backup copy of everything in USER. That way you can undo anything you try to do to fix this.

I'm still not clear on whether 2017 v7 is in PRG0 or PRG1. That's why the PRG.FLG is important.  If you were following the No Nag instructions, you should already know which was the "active" directory. Which was it?

Back to the original suspected problem. You should of been copying NAVI.EXE (the no nag one) from SD to the active program directory (PRG0\APL or PRG1\APL). To do this, you need to delete the existing NAVI.EXE before "pasting" the new one. Testmode will not overwrite an existing file. So it it was the Paste operation you think started overwriting or deleting files - it didn't. It can't.

On the other hand, if you selected all the files (instead of NAVI.EXE) to DELETE, then you would have a big problem. But then your unit would be dead. Actually, I'm not convinced that anything is wrong. If you deleted anything important, you'd have very big problems even using the head unit.

If you really think there are corrupted files in the Active APL directory, you can just copy them from the 2017 update SD (UPDATE\USER\PRG\APL). Remember you need to delete the existing files first. Also, a file overwritten by the old one will have an old date/timestamp. Nearly all the APL files are from 2017. There are a few older DLL files that are just utility libraries that have not updated.

DON'T DO ANYTHING DESTRUCTIVE WITHOUT A BACKUP!!!

  15. I need your help!

How can I re-run the script or better the udate of maps?

I used the shortfusecript and then updated the maps and it went perfectly fine on F930BT.

it stated to be 7.0 and bluetooth 3.3.2

Then I tried to remove the Nag screen and made a mistake the supertestmode so I needed to replace some files from prg1 in prg0.

I hate to get involved with this mess. I'm sure I'll regret it.

Don't "replace some files from prg1 in prg0". Those are different, and possibly incompatible versions.

What exactly did you do? It might be easier to fix if you explained what files you corrupted.

I don't know how to force installing the same version onto itself. But there may be easier ways to fix this once you say what you did.

Also, it would help to know whether after installing v7.0, if USER/PRG.FLG exists. It might be possible to temporarily set the system back to the previous version then re-install v7.

  16. Can't put in the destination on the GPS or anything else but yes location works. The only settings on the screen that is accessible is av setting and av sound

Everything points to a problem with Parking Brake detection. If it isn't that, you've got a hardware problem. So hope that's it.

We know it worked at one time (maybe from a different car) since a previous owner actually paired his phone. So maybe it got disconnected. If a previous owner did the bypass wiring in the harness, the moved wire sometimes loosens. IDK if there was ever a software PB bypass hack for this unit, but it would get overwritten by the next map update. Software PB hacks haven't been engineered in several years.

So, I think you need to pull the unit and check the PB wire connection or look for evidence of a PB by-pass. Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

  17. Have set the parking brake and everything else that I had found on YouTube but still no luck just wish I could have a direct process of correcting this or resetting the unit. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. No manual but did look on line and no direct answer.

By cannot "use GPS", do you mean you don't see your location on the map? Or that you can't enter a destination? Or something else?

Disconnecting the battery does not clear BT settings. However, installing new (or the same) firmware does.  But that won't help you because you can't get to that menu.

Can you get to Settings/Navi Settings/System Status? If so, what does the Parking Brake status say? If it is always OFF, the parking brake wire is not connected correctly. That is the most likely explanation for these issues.

  18. Recently purchased a vehicle with the pioneer avic z140bh already installed and can not connect with blue tooth to play music or use GPS or use the wire to play music only can access av settings no other settings accessible . Tried resetting by disconnecting the battery, looked for pin hole reset button with no luck of one and still no luck of resetting and access. When trying to access blue tooth still says Steve's iPhone still connected ,previous owner, and u can't connect. PLEASE HELP WITH ANY SUGGESTIONS

Set the parking brake. BTW, do you have a user's manual? You can D/L one from Pioneer. Tje PDF is better than a paper manual because you can search for key words.
