Although I can't read the message, I've never seen that screen. I have two thoughts.
- It is possible that commando's navi.exe file did not patch all the calls to "nag" screen instances. You could manually copy my patched navi.exe to both prg0 and prg1.
- Sometimes weird things happen after a firmware update. You can do a hard reset by disconnecting the battery for ~30 seconds.
If neither of those fix it, I've got no ideas.

my headunit history...
Hardware Z110BT
FW / map updated to 120, then 130
I also had the nag screen removal. Never saw it again.
I updated to the 2017 maps today. Works fine.
Performed the manual delete/copy/paste to perform the nag screen removal. Still saw the nag screen. I think I replaced the file in the wrong folder. Completely missed the part saying "if the file is not present...."
Performed the script that commando provided.
The nag screen no longer appears while booting or when going to the nav screen, but I still see it when I browse to my ipod (via Pioneer ipod cable), just the first time. Luckily i only appears once, until I shut it off and turn it back on again. Was this expected on this version of the nag screen removal?
I have the same hardware (Z110) and i use a wired iTouch with the 30pin connector. I have never seen a nag screen using my iTouch. Are you using the iPod app (source) or are you using App Mode?

Looks like they removed them from Navigation.com web-site. Their link does the same thing. Here's the files:

The maps wont do anything when I put the card in my z110bt
Did you replace the Cardinfo.cif file on the SD? The one in the ZIP is for Z130 or Z140

I was in a hurry. Ipod nano connected with the usb/av cable. In the first pic only the settings and eq buttons work.
I never used App Mode - didn't even know it worked with a nano. I can only suggest doing a hard reset by disconnecting the car battery for a couple minutes. This often cures odd behavior after a firmware update.

RonS, I used the "Easy" method, everything went smooth. But now Ipod wont work. The menu changed, I switch the CARDINFO with Z110Z120X920CARDINFO I have the 120BT. What did I do wrong? I'm going outside right now. It worked fine, cable is good. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanx
What do you mean? how is your iPod connected? Did you try AV System Settings/App Connection?

Hello, I have Pioneer_T1000-25818.zip but can't find the proper password. And it isn't "PASSWORDPASSWORD" . Could I please have the right one? Thank you.
I do have ShortFuseScript.zip and would be good to go.

Can't open Display to insert SD Card anymore...
Hey guys, i just tried updating my F20BT following the guide here and got an "Wrong SD" error towards the end. No big deal i thought and wanted to delete the progress via Testmode in order to restore back to my old version as advised here. I got back to my car and suddenly wasn't able to insert the SD anymore, leaving me with the message "No SD available. Insert SD to proceed.".
Does anyone know how to force the F20BT to flip the display? Is there some button combination or little hole through which i could force it to open with a pin?
Hope someone can come to the rescue and help me...
Hold the eject button for about 5 seconds. You might need to cycle the power while holding the eject. BTW, if you got that error you did something wrong. Do not modify any files on the SD except cardinfo.cif (if necessary).
BTW, the instruction in that link are to restart the install. The way to abort the install is - put the super testmode.key on a SD or usb, put that in, and it should boot to testmode. go into file maintenance, and remove the file:
USER\SYSTEM\Download\StartKnd.log
this will kick the unit out of upgrade mode, and should restart into regular mode on next power up (remember to remove the TestMode SD). -
Try turning off Demo Mode in the Navi Settings menu. Download the manual pdf from Pioneer's web site. It is easily searched.

Two dumb questions:
1. On the Z140BH, I previously updated it to the 2015 release using notes in the other threads. But I don't recall having to use any shortfuse hack, although maybe I used test mode. I think all I did was mod the CARDINFO file and insert the new SD contents and it upgraded. Why is there a different approach to upgrading with the 2017 this time to bypass the password lock, which I don't recall doing at all on the 2015 update. (I'm asking this because I used to make hybrid map DVD hacks for the AVIC-90DVD and AVIC-D3 units and I want to be educated)
2. Has the forum software been updated? I see references all the time to "see post #23" or something like that, but the post #'s no longer show up on the top right of posts, instead there is a report or share link but no post number link.
Feel free to throw rocks.
No rocks, but:
#1 Whoever figured out that old hack (pionera???) doesn't seem to be around anymore. So the shortfuse hack worked and will probably always work for these old units. On that other hardware, you are on your own.
#2 Yes. Jason rehosted and converted to a newer BB software. I guess some things didn't (or couldn't) get ported. It does seem to have severly cut down on spammers, but that's the only thing I like about it. But nobody asked me.

Really Nice, now i can use my radio again, thank you!
Can you help me with the sd card as well? How can I use it at the PC again?
My Windows PC can't open the sd card now...Try cleaning the SD contacts or reformating.

I understand my 920 is running version 5, which I'm thinking is the firmware version of the 940. I completely understand hardware didn't get upgraded to a 940. Does that mean I don't need to go to 5.1 before ordering / installing the 2017 maps? I'm happy with the way the unit is working if it doesn't need anything more than to install the latest maps that's great, if it's going to lose some functionality then I'll install whatever it needs.
If it works now, it will work with 5.1. That was a patch to 5.0 to fix some issues with Apple Lighting support.
BTW, it is still on Pioneer USA's site: Software Downloads Scroll down to X940 5.1 update. Read the instructions before installing.

Hi,
I followed along with the instructions to update an X920 to an X940. I currently have a nicely updated unit operating on Firmware Version 5 and BT version 3.32. I would like to purchase the latest 2017 maps from Navigation.com but I'm reading that I need to get to firmware 5.1 before I install any additional updates. I can't seem to find a version 5.1 update anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Keepin mind that you don't currently have a x-940, you have a X920 running v5.0 firmware. In the 5.1 update it clearly says:

Does anyone happen to have a saved copy of the product information for the map update? The link on the official website is unfortunately dead.
AVIC-Z110BT, AVIC-Z120BT, AVIC-X920BT CRD5009A.pdf
I'd like to find out what other software changes might be included in the update before I purchase it myself. Thanks!
Got it.

I have a AVIC-X920BT that I am trying to update. Application version says its 2.001 with Version 2.00, I have downloaded the 2.003 update from Pioneer and have tried to apply the update via SD and USB it goes though all the parts then says "Update failed" with a number 10 in the bottom right. I have searched the forum and google to no avail, I see lots of people with this issue but no resolution. I called Pioneer support and they are trying to say its something internal and I need to send in for repair at a flat rate of $299. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I wouldn't bother trying to install 2.003. It is obselete and if you've lived with it this long - you don't need it.
Instead, update to the 2017 firmware and maps.

Thanks Ron, but it is not an issue with the parking brake. As I said, I did a lot of tests including direct access to the parrot module via AT-commands and it is all fine. It is just the communication with the Pioneer BT application software that does not work. Somehow the settings in USER\RW\SETUP\BT\BTUNIT.DAT got messed up. That's why I need this file from a working unit.
On my Z110-BT it is in /USER/SETUP/BT. Here's mine but I don't know if it will work. Did you try just copy/deleting yours and see it it could be recreated?

First make sure that your parking brake is detected as set. Go to Settings / Navi Settings / Connection Status and make sure it says Parking Brake is On. When Off, some settings and functions are grayed.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply.
Yes, I see version 7.0, so it seems to be installed. I'm not sure about the previous version, I think it was 2.0. (2013?). I entered some new streets from the last years in my nav, but he couldn't find anyone...
The whole interface is the same as well. Is that normal?
I've two other things I would like to know (you seem to have a lot of knowledge about this subject!):
- I cant' see info about speed camera's. Do I have to download this seperately?
- Maybe something different, but my iPod nano (5th generation) and Samsung Galaxy S7 don't make a connection with the Pioneer 'media system'. Is this because I haven't (probably) CarPlay or are their some other tricks?
All the best from Holland!
I think there might be a few minor differences in the menus. Did you also update the Bluetooth to v3.32?
I can't help with speed cameras. I think somewhere in this thread someone posted about that. We don't have that "feature" in the US.
I assume your iPod is wired and your Samsung is through BT.
If you are trying to use Pandora or Aha, there is a setting somewhere called App Connection" where you select wired or wireless (BT). iPods should be wired (USB) with the proper cable. Some people have reported problems with Samsung via BT. But whenever there are problems after a major update I recommend to do a cold-start by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

Hi,
Thank you for the download!
I installed shortfuse, and after that ran the update. But eventhough it seems finished, nothing changed, no new maps or interface. avic f840bt.
Can anyone help? thnx
Depending on your previous version, you might not notice any changes unless a map in your area changed. Go to settings / System Settings / Service Information
Verify it says v7.0.

My apologies, what I meant to say was I found the shortfuse hack post but the actual WinZip file that's supposed to be attached didn't work, I was wondering to see if you could send the link for that for me to download?
I don't know why some people have trouble getting that file. I can download it. I even reposted it here: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/83535-map-update-hack-using-shortfuse-method-z110-z140x920-x940/&do=findComment&comment=347222

i tried to install firmware 3.002 but it wouldn't work, all i keep getting is the splash screen.
So Testmode booted and you saw the menu? That's really all I wanted to know for now. That says your unit isn't totally bricked. There's some Youtube videos on TestMode but the operation is different between the X and Z series (different buttons). You probably won't need it anyway.
If your unit already has 3.x on it, it won't do anything. So I'd try installing the 2017 maps/app. It is in the Z series sub-forum. First read and Install the shortfuse hack. That prepares the unit for the map installation. BTW - Z and X series use the same update. Good luck - you've got a lot of reading to do.

Unfortunately I'm still without turn-by-turn functions and street indicators for this unit. However all radio, blue-tooth, I-device connections, phone, etc. work properly, it's just simply problematic in the GPS/map functions. Would like to get this unit working properly as I have upcoming travels. Any advice is appreciated.
If that is the only thing wrong, it sounds like a settings issue. I just looked in the X series operations manual and it mentions you can turn off guidance by pressing the center of the volume knob. A long press mutes everything. A short press mutes guidance. Also check System Settings/Volume Settings to see both the Guidance volume level and the guidance mute icon.

Hello, I have a huge issue, I have a Avic x930bt, it happened out of the clear blue I started my car up and it wouldn't boot up. All I would get is the Pioneer splash screen and it stays there, I tried to download the update for the firmware and put it in but it did not work. Now I am trying to just go back to the original 3.00 firmware but I don't know how to get it and reinstall it so it can work again. Does anyone have any ideas on how this works and can help? Very much appreciate it skip.
What update and what happened when you tried to install it? Did it do nothing?
Have you tried TestMode? BTW, I see no point in installing v3.x software. If it happened out-of-the-blue then It sounds like a hardware problem.
