  1. ..lol, I wouldn't rely on GPS alone. Do you think these engineers are using their own products?
  2. I took a Vegas trip last weekend and the GPS kept trying to take me on unpaved and unmarked roads. I could not fin the option to avoid these roads anywhere. All in all Garmin GPS is more user friendly and accurate. I wish some buttons, i.e. the OK buttons for route planning were much larger (at least 4x).
  3. I like the garmin but it looked a little cartoonist. It is easier to use thought. Upcoming street was a plus with garmin.
  4. Ok, I just checked and tested it tonight and found out the issue is because the iPod is on shuffle, hence the head unit is defaulting to this mode. Turn shuffling off prior to connecting it works.
  5. Only options are auto or day, no options for time of day.
  6. Yes, I noticed this too and it's very annoying. I will try to see if the shuffle is on by default on my iPod.
  7. Sorry for reviving this old thready, but does anyone know if this unit has auto night/day mode by time, and not by headlight switch? I like driving with the headlights on in the day but don't want the unit to go into night mode. Yes, I can set it manually but "auto" is the key. My Kenwood DNX5120 auto switch by time. I tried searching to no luck.

You must be lucky, unfortunately not the case for me.

I meant Kenwood, their BT/Mic are not any better.

I really enjoy this unit besides the only gripe with the Bluetooth mic, which is apparently crap. It has to be the Mic since it's understanding of my voice commands is also crap. My next trial would be an Alpine unit since Garmin BT is not any better. Maybe they should avoid supplying the chinese made mic.

Hey Guys I guess I'm not having any good luck with the mic placement, can anyone suggest a good location? I had my Garmin mic high up in the driver side a pillar but can hardly use it when the car is moving. I now have have the x920BT mic in the radio bezel and still cannot use it when the car is moving. Also, is there a problem with me just exposing the end of the mic versus having the entire "stick" out? Lastly, can anyone suggest a better "plug and play" mic? Thanks!
  12. I just received and installed this unit last night and I love everything about it but the Navi. I've had 2 Kenwood Units before this one and all I can say is that the Garmin Navi, although cartoonish is mostly very accurate. I've done 3 routes with the Pioneer unit so far and all I can claim is that it want's to take me all over the place. Pioneer, I love this unit but you've got to fix the Navi. I don't want more POI's, I want accuracy and one less step to start a route. Thank you!
