Thanks tillithz for the information! I would be very interested in putting the bluetooth system in. Do you know if it would work over the speaker system in the RDX? I would also be interested in putting in the DVD player and rear camera. I am assuming they would work with the in-dash screen, or would I have to put a separate screen in? Basically, I wanted nearly all of the features of the tech package except the nav and voice activation. Maybe I should have bit the bullet but it is too late now. Thanks for the help

Purchased an RDX awhile back and I am somewhat regreting not getting the nav tech package. Wondering if anyone has installed a D3 into an RDX and how does it look. The dash is quite different than most cars so I am thinking that this would not be an easy install. Crutchfield has no information about a D3 in an RDX. Any help/pics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the input. I posted this on VW Vortex also. Yeah that is what they told me that it would have to be a custom install. There are couple of guys on here who have put them in VWs maybe they will see the post and respond with the parts they needed. It appears that all that is needed is a cage to put it in although Pioneer has not released any parts for the D3 yet. I do have some patience so maybe I will wait until the waters clear before getting mine.

I have dug around on here and I beleive my question is answered in that I need a "sleeve" to install the D3 in a 2007 VW Passat Wagon. Anyway below is my experience this morning with Crutchfield. I went online this morning to buy a D3 from Crutchfield and used their fit program and found that the D3 does not fit into my 2007 Passat Wagon. I found this bizarre as a few weeks back the program spit out that it would fit. I also remember on the Pioneer site that it would fit although it looks like Pioneer has taken down their fit chart. Thanks for the post. I am looking to install one in a 07, Passat wagon. Wondering how the sound quality is? The HU in the wagon is crap so I want to replace it with a navigation system. In your opinion how do all the sources sound radio, ipod, cd? Is the stage separation good or is it blurred together. Bass is is tight or bloated? Mids and highs are they smooth or tinny. My experience with the stock HU in the passat is that the Mid/Highs are tinny and the bass bloated. Thanks again for you post and any info you might be able to provide.

Mannyman awsome stuff! The big thing for me is the sound quality using all sources radio, ipod, cd. What is your opinion of the sound quality (soundstage depth separation, bass control (is it tight or bloated), mids, highs are they smooth or bright and tinny. I have an 07 Passat wagon that I will most likely be putting one in because I want a good navigation and also becasue the stock HU is crap. Did you put Bluetooth in? I am not concerend about the one disc slot that many mention as I most likely will transfer everything to my ipod or put in a disc changer. Thanks for any info!
