And if your not familiar with Kodi look it up. No downloading or rereipping movies so they play on the deck... It a click an play experience now VERY VERY EASY!!!!

Actually, I've been in this customized scene for a while now. Self-taught.

In a nutshell, here are a few features I have running on my Z110BT

iPhone 4s dedicated to the car (custom mount hardwired to Z110BT with no wires showing.  I HATE EXPOSED WIRES lol).   I don't want to lose the iPhone interaction with the Z110BT, so I leave the phone mounted to the custom dash plate.  All apps on 4s are already set up to broadcast audio/video on the Z110BT screen (Netflix, Pandora, Youtube, etc.).

I use QNAP apps to stream all media from my home QNAP TS-453 Pro server where I have movies, TV shows, pictures, etc. stored.  Therefore I have no need for large sized iPhones; all my media is streamed.  All videos are compressed, and broadcast in a lower resolution so that it runs smoother on my 7" screen (no skips).  The QNAP server does all the hard work.

I installed two AV switches to add a gaming system, and a digital converter box (both modified to run off of 12V)  to watch live TV local wherever I am located.  I simply scan the area for channels and start channel surfing.  I installed a very small antenna in my rear window that is hard to spot.

I use Slingplayer app to stream LIVE television from home.  I'm able to control my cable box, remotely, as if I'm sitting on the couch, and I'm able to watch DVR, live sports, movies, etc. at no extra cost.

I use a modded PS2 with wireless controllers to run ALL my older gaming system emulators (PSOne, PS2, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Masters, Atari 2600, GameBoy, and GameBoy Color, all on the dash screen.

I added headrest monitors to either mirror what is up front on the dash, or run their own individual DVD source and wireless headphones.  With this setup, I can run up to three media sources simultaneously and all having their separate sound (when utilizing the wireless headphones in the rear).

Jailbroken iPhone SE provides wifi connection to iPhone 4s and unlocks ALL the features in the iPhone.  My everyday cell phone connects when a call comes in.  Otherwise, it is the wifi source for anyone in the car.  I have the ORIGINAL Verizon unlimited data plan, so I stream upwards of 40 GBs per month through my phone (yes, I said +40 GBs).

I added an upgrades sound system that includes 2 12" subs, upgraded component speakers and rear speakers, and two highly efficient Alpine amps that do not run hot and NEVER overheat.  I also kept the stock alternator, so I had to reduce power in the system by installing LED lights throughout the car.

I own a 2007 Camry and you would never guess all this equipment is inside until I turn on the system.  Its my Mancave on Wheels.

I have pics/videos of my setup if you'd like to see it.

  2. Anyone know what dimensions videos need to be to play on z130? I have copied some MP4 and they work and others the unit skips

There are a number of threads here that answers this question......

I've personally provided some info HERE.  Its a bit dated but it should still work.

Just run a quick forum search.

  3. Has anyone had trouble updating the Z110bt with the CNSD-210FM update? The first SD installed with no problem but as it finished a message appeared on the screen "wrong SD card insert correct SD card". I inserted the second SD card but it didn't finish the installation. I've tried re-installing 1.001.000 but the message still appears on the screen. When I take the SD card out I get another message "no SD available. Insert SD to continue"  any other function is inaccessible.

I've successfully updated my Z110bt with the 2013 Maps.  I suggest you format your SD card.  If you're using WINDOWS, make sure you uncheck "Quick Format".  Then copy over the files to the SD card with nothing else on the card.  See if this works.

  4. A BIG thanks goes to misterwoofwoof for the download.

I followed the "Instructions for Z110BT, Z120BT, and X920BT units" to upgrade my Z110 that had the 2011 maps previously installed.

I lost VR for map functions but I'm enjoying the slightly new additions to the interface.

No password needed, and all is running SMOOTH!!!!!

    Thanks again!!!!!!

  5. Navteq finally posted the T1000-20495 2013 map update on their website at www.navigation.com.  The manual PDF specifically states that iPhone5 lightning functionality is for AVIC Z140BH and X940BH.  Looks like us with older units are out of luck.

So what is the result of your progress?  Were you able to get full functionality of an iPhone 5 connected to your Z130 with the update?  More importantly, were you able to get video sent to your dash?

  6. So what happened to this thread?  I have a 110 upgraded to a 120 and would like to go further.  Did anyone ever make any progress in this "pitch-in update"?

Search the threads.  There is a torrent link available for the files.

  7. Do a search for this question; its been discussed many times.

    Quick Reference:

    • Can you play ANY videos from SD card to the rear screen?      NO!!!!!!! ==> this is by design from Pioneer
    • Playable file-format is different between SDHC & DVD?            YES!!!!! ==> see manual

AVI/DIVX files work well from discs.

MP4 files work well from SD card (but the format is finicky).

I eventually used the iPhone for video storage mainly because I can send the video to the rear.  I stream Netflix, as well as my personal media from home, to the rear monitors.  The RCA AV input video can also be sent to the rear monitors.

  8. I, too, have the Z110, and I went with the VTL200 back in 2011.  The camera is built into the license plate frame.  I figured it would be the stealthiest.  I have 2 12" subs in the trunk, so I know it takes a beating.  Still going strong.

    UPDATE  #1

The camera now has condensation behind the lens.  I am unable to remove the lens to clean out the water droplets because the screws near the lens are now stripped.  It seems the chrome-like metal is stripping away.  I may have to replace the camera.  Damn!!!!!!

    UPDATE  #2

I replaced my Boyo VTL200 with a Pyle PLCM21 license plate camera.  The Pyle camera has parking guidelines in the image, as well as 8 LEDs built into the frame.

I agree that a CCD camera is better than a CMOS camera.

Also, I would suggest a license plate camera (not an add-on camera) for two reasons; the camera is centered behind the vehicle, and the hole that is drilled into the trunk an exist behind the frame which would not be visible if you replaced the camera frame with a regular frame.

  9. Or, get the youtube replacement app jasmine, push the app button, and enjoy.  Works all the way up to 6.1.2 on iphone 4s.

I don't think this is true.  I am unable to get YouTube to output its video if I use the YouTube app (downloaded from the app store).

When I uninstalled the YouTube app, and used the Safari browser to load up YouTube, the phone's media player outputs its video by default, no matter what video is playing.

  10. Is there a way to get YouTube videos or other streaming web video to play on the z140?

I have the pioneer oem iPhone cable but am only getting audio through the 140 when playing videos.

I've mentioned this in another thread.

Do not use the YouTube app, go to the Safari browser, go to YouTube website, play the video from there, and the browser's player will broadcast to the headunit.

  11. Thank you for the feedback fellas.  Did they release an app for YouTube? (I'm assuming so, heard the built in icon for YouTube was discontinued with iOS6).  Maybe I can further investigate compatibility that way.

Ive found that uninstalling the YouTube app, and using the Safari browser to use YouTube is more ideal.

    Why, you ask?

Because the web-based Youtube can be broadcasted to the headunit.

  12. I have a Z120 that I have updated to a Z130 and an iPhone 4S with iOS 5.1.1 which has worked pretty well for the most part. I am looking to update to iOS6, but am leery because I remember reading about all of the issues that people were having (and may still continue to have with the update) which has kept me from updating. Is there a thread or a sticky tailored to the Z130-140 (or just the Z series) that I can use as a reference to see what issues are out there that have been resolved and not resolved? I apologize if there is and I have missed it, I tried searching using several different keywords but I kept getting AppRadio results.

If there isn't a running thread on this someone could link me to, here are the issues I am concerned with:

YouTube - I know the app will be gone in iOS6. Is there a way to stream Youtube videos with iOS6 on this unit? I know Google released a map app when Apple tried to force everyone to use theirs, did they do the same for Youtube?

Netflix - I currently use AppMode to view Netflix from the Netflix app, will that change or will compatability be affected?

Pandora - Any issues with album artwork, song titles, etc. using this app on iOS6 and the headunit? I remember for a good bit that Pandora broke with a firmware release to where the source selection was messed up with Pandora and other stored music on the iPhone when swapping sources.

Music and Video playback - Everything okay in this department?

Thanks any info you guys can give me!

I have a Z110 (upgraded to Z130), and here are my findings:

YouTube app doesn't broadcast to the headunit.

Netflix app works in AppMode just fine.  No different than on previous IOSes.

    Pandora works fine as well.

Music works as normal, and Video playback works in AppMode.

Also, some of my music videos are out-of-sync with the audio.  When I view those same videos on the iPone, they are fine.  Not sure what is causing this, but it happens.

  13. I wired it under the dash in my Explorer. When I removed the bottom of the the dash under the steering wheel there wes a metal bracket that the power tamer fit perfect. Just set all the dip switches to off, that will put it in the 5 second "test mode". I didn't use the optional ignition wire. No reboots at all, Power stays on for 5 seconds after you open the door, normal.

I actually meant how did you ELECTRICALLY wire it up? Did you tap into the fusebox? Where did you run the wires?

  14. hello all. I just recently purchased a z140bh. So far i love the unit other than the actual screen picture quality during video playback leaves me wishing i had my 5 year old flip out screen back. (or is there something im missing here too)

main question i have is ive been reading that these have dual zone capabilities however i cant seem to find anything about how to use it or turn it on in the manual or online. does it have to be hooked up a specific way? my end goal is to make my headphone unit that sits in the rear of my center console be used as my rear seat audio output but i can figure the logistics of how to turn that on and put sound to it once i figure out how to turn the dual zone feature on on the head unit. (the headphone unit is stock in my 06 suburban and was allowed to power on when the factory radio turned on now the the factory radio has been removed i will have to power it and then send a new feed to the unit as well.)

second question i have an android phone that allows me to stream netflix through a netflix app to my phone, is there a way to link that app to the radio as well. im assumeing no but figured id ask.

so any help on this dual zone option would be greatly appreciated! also any cool cracks available for this unit?

    thanks!

These units have a screen resolution of 800 x 480; this is DVD quality on a 7" screen. I would say your source video quality is low. DVDs look great, and SD vids are hit or miss when it comes to PQ.

Also, the dual-zone feature allows you to send a different source (DVD, iPod/iPhone, BT, etc.) to the Audio-OUT/Video-Out REAR RCA plugs on the back of the HU. In order for you to do what you want, you would have to hard-wire your headphone unit to the REAR output RCAs of the HU.

The dual-sone feature is best utilized if you have monitors in the back with either headphone capability or built-in speakers. This way, your rear passangers can hear & see a separate source than what is seen & heard up front. So, unless you have monitors in the rear, the dual-zone capability isnt fully utilized.

    Hope this helps

  15. Got my Power Tamer VS today and installed it as per the instructions. It works great!! The programing is a piece of cake using dip switches compaired to the TR7. I turned all the switches off to put it in the 5 second test mode and haven't had a reboot yet when going from Acc to Engine Start. The only drawback is the price, $85.00 from a fleet dealer and the unit is larger than the TR7. Other than that I love it.

Where exactly did you wire up the Power Tamer VS? Near the fusebox under the hood? I would appreciate it if you could post pics.

  16. OK, tried your SaveVid method again and got it to work. I was denying access to the Java Applet I believe but it works pretty well now and saves having to do all the manual steps. Too bad YouTube has such crap compression to begin with so no matter how you do it, it's not the best original quality but it's better than nothing.

    Thanks.

You want better resolution & quality from downloaded Youtube vids? Well, I suggest you download only Youtube videos that are linked to VEVO.

What I do is go to Youtube, type "VEVO" and then an artist's name, and download the official videos from the VEVO site straight to my SD card. Make sure you grab the 640x480 MP4 format (640x480 I think) but not the HD content. These vids have excellent resolution, and for the most part, they work pretty well when copied straight to the SD card. The best part is that there is no need to convert video formats.

This wont work if you try to download straight from VEVO.

  17. Trust me the minute you hook up the tuner the system will start rebooting on its own every two to three seconds. As soon as I took it off it was all good.

No disrespect, but may I ask if you upgraded your Z110 with the correct upgrade? There are two versions; one for Z110/Z120, and the other for Z130.

Also, did you try to upgrade the HU with the new tuner installed? Maybe it is expecting to see the old tuner, and goes into a loop because you installed the upgrade with the old tuner. Im just thinking out loud.

  18. Thanks for the offers guys. Let me just clear something up. I'm not offering the cracked version as I have no clue how to crack it. I'm buying the SD card from navteq for $120 bucks so I can upgrade my unit. I'm willing to upload the files on that SD card to whoever can crack it so the rest of the community can upgrade as well.

Can you tell me if the voice-control for POIs have been removed after the update?

  19. Hello people. First off, I just want to say thanks to guys who created this site and to everyone who has contributed information, background images, upgrade files, etc that i've been using since I got the Z1 back in 2007. I upgraded my Z1 to Z2 and then to Z3 with the help from you guys. I then purchased a 110 on it's release day and upgraded it to the 120 using this site as well. I bought the 130 for the traffic and app mode.

I've been waiting for this update to come out ever since the announcement of the 140 and I saw that they were using Navteq instead of teleatlas for the map database. I love pioneer head units but the maps have always been their weakest point in my opinion. I was thinking about just switching to the Kenwood 9990 since they use Garmin but I wanted to wait to see if navteq could keep me with pioneer.

I just purchased the 130 to 140 upgrade and I'll upload the files to whoever does the cracks for this site. For those that don't know, this upgrade will work for the 930bt and the 9310bt. If anyone wants to chip in to help with the costs be my guests. I'll upload the files regardless to show my appreciation for all the money i've save using the info from this site. I don't know who does the cracks or who I need to upload the files to so let me know and I'll get them to you once I get the upgrade.

If you want to donate just shoot me a PM and i'll give you my info. If someone can confirm that it is ok for me to list my paypal info on this post I'll do it. If a new post needs to be created just let me know.

Thanks Avic411 for all of the info that you have provide me over the last 5.5 years.

It's good to see others giving back. You are much appreciated. Send me your PayPal info.
