Hi there. I've used windows mobile/ce/automotive for years, and I can speak for experience that it's pretty crappy. I don't think you'll find much of the software, as it's all upper application layer stuff that controls it.
I'm more actually curious rather than fix wince to replace it with android. Haret works as a nice bootstrapper for android from windows mobile, and it'd probably work to boot code off an SD card like they do winmo phones. It's a well known tactic when they can't modify the bootloader to run android that when you boot windows, it just sequence boots android. Problem
