  1. Hi Vblue42: My phone naturally types numbers for calling, web browsing etc. The problem is to select a number on the interior keypad you must hold the 'function' key while pressing an alpha/numeric key and to get to the numbers which can take anywhere from 3 to 8 clicks to place the number on the screen. I'm sure there's a way to do this, should probably call my phone vendor. Thanks, B3
  2. Just want to thank Vblue42 and everyone else! I just replaced my Sirius Pioneer Tuner with and XM Version and the XM is faaaaaaaar better Love the graphics, song/artist lists on similar stations etc. Was quite a chore finding a spot in my car for the larger XM tuner, but it all worked out! Regards, B3
  3. Have a new phone, a Samsung Incognito and want to pair with by Z120BT. My problem? How do I specify a bluetooth password on the Pioneer with the alphabet and NOT numbers? My Samsung phone doesn't seem to allow me to type in a 'number only' sequence when pairing. Thanks in advance, B3
  4. Interesting to hear everyone's varied experiences - I can relate on some levels. For example, my VR almost always recognizes 'artist' names so for example the unit has no trouble say 'Electric Light Orchestra' yet refuses to recognize/understand any album title, no matter how simple, short or mono-syllabic (is that word ? I hope to try a few of your suggestions when in vehicle tomorrow morning. Thanks, B3
  5. Looking for help with some Voice Recognition problems? Most of my voice commands work well most of the time (for placing calls, finding POIs, listing 'artists'). However, once 'artists' are listed I can NEVER get the Z120BT to play a particular album or list the tracks on the album via a voice prompt such as "Play the album 'XYZ'". This is particularly frustrating since once album names are listed on screen via Voice Prompt, the listing on screen is NOT clickable to choose the album. What could be the problem? Again, I have a good mic location and most 'tested' VR commands are wor
  6. I've seen quite a few discussions/videos showing bluetooth streaming of Pandora with Iphones and Ipads. My question, has anyone here streamed Pandora from say a Blackberry to their Z120BT? Pandora site lists the Blackberry as compatible with their service, just hoping it will stream to the Avic? Thanks for your help B3 PS: I am astounded that people can stream Netflix with an iPhone, any chance that can be done without the Iphone, maybe on a Blackberry or Android?...obviously I don't have an iPhone
  7. This is for Vblue42 IF you see this, or anyone else who can answer? I watched your XM/Pioneer review video at Really LIKE what you're showing at the link! What Satellite tuner hardware are you running to achieve this? This XM setup looks sooooo much better than the two Sirius components I'm currently using through my Z120BT. Thanks again for any help? B3
  8. Hello: I currently have a Sirius Tuner connected to my Z120BT. Of course I also had to use the Pioneer CD-SB10 Sirius interface. Everything works fine, however, I've considered switching to an XM tuner, is anyone else using an XM tuner with their Z120BT? What hardware would I need to buy? Would I only need the following part: Pioneer GEX-P920XM Would I need an 'interface' as I have with the Sirius tuner? BTW, I'd want to do this in a 2010 Ford which originally had Sirius and I am actually still using the Ford's Sirius roof mount antenna, can anyone confirm if that cable e
  9. About ready to try my first Ipod with my Z120-BT. Is a 7th Generation Ipod Classic 160GB fully compatible with the Pioneer? Will I show album art on the head unit's screen said Ipod? Will I be able to toggle up/down tracks etc from steering wheel the same as I do with SD Card/USB? BTW, I'll be using the following cable from Pioneer: Pioneer CD-IU50V...I've read the thread about the REAL Pioneer vs. the Fakes Just wanted to confirm all the hardware will work? Regards, B3
  10. Visited Ford dealer today, the service writer seemed certain that ALL the steering wheel controls are on one circuit. If that's the case, does it all lead back to the PAC controller? I've programmed it multiple times, skipping over non-needed or unavailable functions, never able to get a positive program for the voice/phone on/phone off. The PAC rep mentioned a way to test if there's an electrical 'draw' when pressing the non-functioning buttons, but I didn't get the details. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks again for any help, B3
  11. Hi VBlue42: So IF my wheel's VOICE/PHONE are in fact on seperate circuit, is there anyway to make this work with the PAC SWIPS? Anyway to place the VOICE/PHONE circuit wires on the same circuit as the line powering the the volume/seek/media? I will be at my Ford dealer today, might ask them about the circuitry of the wheel? Appreciate any other advice? Thanks, B3
  12. Hello: I'm using a PAC SWI-ps with my Z120BT to try and retain steering wheel functions in my 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Programming the PAC SWI-ps is now easy and I've retained Volume +/-, Seek +/- and Media controller. However, I still do NOT have the 'VOICE' button or the 'PHONE' button to work even though my version of the SWIPS is supposed to do this! I called PAC and they said that some steering wheels have buttons on different circuits and that could be the problem? I called a knowledgeable local installer which stated that Z120BT's are known for not retaining VOICE/PH
  13. Hello: I've inadvertently placed a 'pin' icon at several points on regular routes I travel. How can I remove this? And also, what exactly is it and it's purpose? Thanks, B3
  14. Hello: I've been enjoying my Z120BT for about 3 weeks now! My only gripe is the touch-screen scroll response when navigation folders of MP3 files on either my HighSpeed SD card or USB drive. My Question: From those that have an Ipod connectied to their AVIC, is the touch-screen scroll response noticeably better via the Ipod vs. SD card or USB? Naturally I ask since I do NOT have an Ipod but would consider one (and the connecting cable) if this would solve the problem mentioned above? Don't want to waste money on an iPod if won't help the problem? Thanks for any help? B3
  15. Hello: Apologize if the answer is obvious, but this is driving my crazy! While trying to do a vertical 'scroll' or 'flick' through my artist folders on either SD card USB, I get a very poor response and when the folders do scroll, they are often too fast and won't 'land' where I'd like? There's a demo of this on youtube, yet no instruction on how to change the speed? Thanks for any help, B3
