  1. I would run both power wires to new sources. Make sure that the correct power wire is straight power and the other one is accessory power.
  2. I had this same problem with mine. Two problems. Cheap SD card and large video. SD cards come in several classes. Get one with at least class 6...to give you good speed capability. Second, if required, re-encode the video with a lower bit rate. I recommend the Xilisoft video converter. It works quite well. Cheers.
  3. I don't have that unit, but I would bet that the problem is due to a cheap SD card. SD cards come in several classes...I would suggest going minimum class 6. Yea, they cost a bit more, but totally worth it for the extra speed. Additionally, you may want to try re-encoding the video with a lower bit rate. There are numerous tools on the internet to encode videos. I personlly like the Xilisoft converters...they work pretty slick.
  4. Ok, you've got a lot going on here. Let's start with the rear speakers. Check your amp for switches that may read 2channel/4 channel, or bridged...anything like that. Does the amp require additional inputs for 4 speaker output? I'm not familiar with the model, so I can only suggest things to look for. Now the alternator whine. This is due to a poor ground. You have multiple components, so I would check them all to be safe. Are all components grounded to the same location? If so, try grounding in multiple locations. What gauge of wire are you using...you may need thicker wire to handl
  5. It sounds like your parking break wire may not be connected correctly...or your parking break is not engaged. Oops, I read your post again and you said that you didn't connect the parking break wire. There's the problem. That must be connected for the unit to function properly. Typically, the situation you're describing would occur when the vehicle is moving. Pioneer tries to prevent people from using the nav when the car is in motion. This can be bypassed (at your own risk)...there are many posts that tell how to do this. As for the DVD sound, but no picture...press the DVD button on t
  6. I found that when I use VR or bluetooth that turning down the air conditioning/heater fan does the trick. For some reason the airflow really wreaks havoc with this thing.
  7. I've had similar issues with my unit. Even when it would boot up, it would consistently set my destination to take me home. I'd cancel the route and it would set again seconds later. It was very frustrating, then one day I decided to do a reset (press the reset button with a pen) and held it for about 30 seconds. It's been working good since. Cheers.
  8. To isolate the component that is causing the issue, disconnect your amp and hook up a few speakes directly to the head unit. If you still have the alternator noice then it is the head unit grounding that is the problem. One thing I noticed on mine is that the wires in connectors don't stay in very well, so after you plug the connector to the head unit, push all of the wires in to make sure they're seated properly. As for the amp, you mentioned that it's grounded with a big bolt. Make sure that the metal where that bolt is, is not painted or rusted. If needed, use some sandpaper to clean i
  9. I would suggest trying a pencil eraser. Works like magic.
  10. The bit rate as previosly mentioned is important. One other thing is that not all USB drives are created equal. They come in different speeds just as any other memory does...including SD cards. I had the same problem with my Verbatim USB drive so I moved the files over to an OCZ USB drive and it works flawlessly.
  11. I also have problems with my bluetooth...on the X910BT. My blackberry connects to the unit, but the connection is extremely poor and choppy...to the extent that I can't understand what the person is saying. I have tried 3 other phones to rule out that possibility and all have the same result. I have been in contact with Pioneer support and all they have done is refer me to the firmware page on their site...even though I had indicated that my current firmware is the latest. They are no longer responding to any of my emails. I upgraded to this model from a D2 and I'm sorry I did. I have to
