  1. Well i found another way to get A2DP to work on the F series..... Audio is great! forward and back track works too!!

Used a CD-BTB200 as i had it when i was using my D3. You can still have the built in bluetooth for handsfree and the CD-BTB200 for the A2DP... However its a little interesting to administrate..

  2. I know this is a very old post but wanted to share my results on hooking up a CD-BTB200 on and F900BT....

Was rather late in the game on upgrading my Pioneer NAV... I've had a D3 for a very long time and its been a great unit.... I had the opportunity on getting a F900BT for rather cheap so i decided to buy it. I found out that pretty much all the connectors on the D3 are identical so i didn't have to change the harness... Only thing i had to modify is the bypass wire location and use the F900BT GPS antenna due to the different plastic harness it uses...

I knew that the F900BT does not support A2DP which i was rather shocked to find out.... I mean the older D3 supported it... Why not the F900BT... So, i decided well, what if i kept my CD-BTB200 connected, would it still work?

Gave it a try and load and behold, the F900BT detected Ext1 as a available choice... I chose it and a rather strange menu came up. It said BT AUDIO as the source, but 1-6 buttons appeared, with band and F1 F2 F3 F4 buttons...

However, i noticed that my iPhone was connected to my BTB200 and pressing F2 made the iPhone play and F1 would make it stop.. So, it wasn't too bad to use the BTB200 as a alternative on getting A2DP. Even track forward and back worked too..

So i decided to keep the BTB200 hooked in so i could get A2DP support for my F900BT.

I will probably play with it some more later on to see if basic pairing with other devices still work with the cryptic menu...

I'll be honest, it works great in a way because it pairs with the iPhone automatically and you don't really need to look at that ugly menu. But, I have a feeling when it comes to pairing another device and bluetooth administration, it will be not that easy...

  3. Just got my kensington ipod charger and it works fine... The built in passthrough works fine with the D3 and all functions work (music/info/control)..

Just to ensure i am not burning anything out, i disabled the ipod charge on the pioneer.

Most likely gonna run the charger cable with the pioneer one and install a cig lighter behind the dashboard to make things a lot more cleaner...

  4. i used it as a extra measure to hold it in place and to prop the trim up so it would match where the corners of the dash plate should meet with the original oem radio.

I used a tradional flat file and a vise... i vised the file (used a cloth in between so i don't damage the file and then filed the sides of the trim until it fit.. i usually took 2mm off then checked to see if it fit.

I would suggest usuing the avic cardboard box and make a dummy replica of the opening of your dash then use that as a guide to trace how much you need to trim off until the trim ring fits.

  5. Hi all,

Has anyone had an issue with a D1 where when you program a route, it only uses main streets and if it does use smaller streets, the route is purple. When you get to those smaller streets, the lady announces that "Guidance is not available in this area."

I also have a D3 and using the same route, it doesn't happen. I live in a popular city (calgary) so..

I've also reseted the D1 and that didn't fix anything..

    Any ideas?

  6. Its the XviD codec... I had to convert my XviD copy of south park to DivX to make it play right. Also in the manual it states it can play AC3/MP3 encoded audio in the video file.

  7. Anywooo to get back in topic...

What i found out was the file has to be of course DivX format... not XviD, 3ivx, or any other mpeg-4 type format. I choose the Home Theatre encoding to convert my south park episode from XviD to DivX. Audio can only be either MP3 or AC3. Then i just burned it onto cd as if i was burning a mp3 cd/dvd...

Popped the disc in and it played fine.

  8. The D3 its super easy...

Dimension that work that i have found so the picture shows full screen.

    500x240

pretty much make a jpg file that dimension and then dump your files in cd with the folder

    /PICTURES/

make sure you have at least 1.2MB of jpgs and it should read fine... NO MP3s on the disc or it will think its a mp3 disc.

Under system options in Navi menu, change background... choose what you want... Startup image/Navi menu/AV Menu and pick import from disc and choose what you want... When your done... eject the disc and put back your NAVI dvd... (You don't have to have the cd in all the time to see your background is what i'm trying to say heh)

  9. Well i had the xm direct before because my previous deck only uses terk for connectivity. I got the pioneer adapter from a buddy and it wouldn't even detect it.. So i wanted to make sure before i switch to the pioneer model that if anyone had this issue with the D3...

Since i am impatient and hearing from the forums the terk is a piece of @#*($ which i have to agree... I got the Pioneer xm radio and everything works fine now...

So i guess for future reference..

Terk will not work at all with the D3.. and sketchy with the other avics..

  10. Hey all,

Just installed my AVIC-D3 Though I recently ran into a snag...

My XM doesn't work at all... The Unit does not detect it what so ever... (XM grayed out) I am speculating that the D3 is totally incompatible with the XM Direct adapter and that Pioneer is pretty much forcing you to use their own XM Radio unit..

Wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue...

I have sourced out a Pioneer XM Radio Deck but I want to make sure my speculation is correct...
