  1. On the 2010 Honda Odyssey the power wires are connected as instructed with direct-connect harness, per 8200NEX and Maestro SW ADS-MSW manuals.

So the red Accessory wires from the Direct-Connect, 8200NEX, and Maestro connected together. Then the Yellow Direct-Connect 12-volt power to 8200NEX yellow.

I haven't done the ground separations for this unit/vehicle.

  2. The power wires are connected as instructions would have it. However on the first install of the 8100NEX in the Lexus my GPS maps would flip up and down. So I had to go in and separate the grounds:

-Parking Brake on radio harness to body junction on right side kick panel

    - TYTO-1 Black, and Black/White with radio harness Black to metal body on right side

    - Maestro SW ADS-MSW Black ground to body junction left side kick panel

Problem solved! Not sure if this is the difference but I haven't had reboots on either Lexus installs.

  3. Curious on a fix for this as I have it happening with an 8200NEX, installed in a 2010 Honda Odyssey. Did the reboot a few times on my wife's trip from Ann Arbor to NY. I have the Maestro SW ADS-MSW connected to this unit.

For the poster with the Toyota. I've installed the 8100 and 8400NEX's in both my Lexus RX330's with Axxess TYTO-1, and Maestro SW ADS-MSW and haven't had this issue.

  4. I know this is an old thread but just want to confirm that the VSS wire is in fact the yellow wire, pin 17, second plug down. Just installed an AVIC-X940-BT in a 2005 Toyota Highlander 3.3L, and on this particular unit as similar series models the VSS connection aids in eco fuel efficiencies, and accuracy of GPS.

To gain access it’s best to remove the glovebox for proper splicing. To remove push two bushings inward at the sides and pull forward, then unscrew softclose wire behind the glovebox on the right, lastly remove two black plastic pushpins along the hinge using needle nose pliers. Glovebox comes completely out to expose the ECM.

Oh yeah, if you haven’t it’s a good time to change the carbon filter that sits behind the glovebox. ; ^ )

  5. So I contacted Pioneer and was instructed to give the unit a reset by holding mode, and left track button on start-up. I tried the reset option first with no improvement, then was told to try clear user-settings option, where neither did not even reset the sound settings. I was told if this option did not correct things that I should most likely send it in for a flat fee, north of $100.

  6. Thanks Ron S.  So here's what it's doing...  When I tried pressing the volume knob after entering a destination it gave a voice prompt for the distance to the next turn, but nothing else. I've tried resetting and going into the menu settings with no change.  The in-route arrow does not follow the plotted course.  Nor am I given an ETA, arrow indication on upcoming exits/turns. Also the street I'm traveling isn't indicated at the bottom.

  7. Thanks for your help RonS... Finally had a little time to get back to this but unfortunately I haven't been able to get into Testmode to access those files, using hold on home, then previous, forward, previous, forward, previous, forward. As of now if I input a destination it will briefly indicate an eta, as well as green route outline, but no short-distance indicator screen, or voice directives. Coincidentally I've since installed an X920-BT in another vehicle that works perfectly so now I'm even more stumped!

  8. Agreed on Pioneer dragging a$$ to at least keep the units relevant with support and constant changes. I have 4 AVIC's (2 F900BT's, 2 X910BT's) and upgrades can be frustrating especially when Pioneer releases official software at $100+ and only one use per unit! Don't get me wrong I do like them but you would not think an electronic giant like Pioneer to release a product and drop the ball i.e., support, dated software, and incompatibility with HD radio and XM modules.

However my wife contacted Apple that said they had no knowledge of the current problems. To leave a description of the problems at Apple.com/feedback so their techs can find a solution. So maybe with enough feedback from users they'll fix the problem.

  9. Ok, so I got in touch with Pioneer today. There was no issue as far as sending the unit in for password retrieval. But as far as the IOS5 software issues go they have received several complaints and suggest for me to take it up with Apple. Hopefully Apple fixes this in the software, but I hope this doesn't mean Pioneer is leaving previous model owners in the cold. This file from the previous post:

-With regards to the current in-dash navigation models, AVIC-X930BT and AVIC-Z130BT, all are certified to support iPhone and work with IOS 5.

  10. I just picked up an AVIC-X910BT that came with the map upgrade 3.0 software (SD's A&B) that Pioneer sells. I also have two other units in different vehicles F900BT, and another X910BT. Both have the video bypass mods. but could use the new map software. My questions are can I use the software on more than one unit, and if so will it kick out my bypass mod.?
