  1. I currently have a D3 in my 08 malibu and i am considering putting a f-90BT in. My question is; is the hardware bypass the same as it is for the D3? I sure hope so so I dont have to re-wire anything. Yes or No? If not, I can just do the software bypass.
  2. I know what happened, because i did the same thing. He didn't relocate the mute pin before he grounded it. (step 1 on HiFiSi's post above) He just grounded the actual mute wire. Otherwise everything else is correct. If im correct, you should be getting a little message (if you are playing video) that tells you its not legal to drive and watch videos at the same time (or something to that nature)
  3. For this car, I recommend the following: Onstar Interface PAC OS-311 (this will work with or without factory amp) (antenna adapter included) Steering wheel controls - PAC - SWI-PS Installation Kit - Scosche 1599B VSS Wire, Parking break, and reverse wire - PAC-NAV-1129 Thats what I used to install my D3 and it works very well!
  4. Cant find the VSS or dont want to tap into the ECM/PCM? Check this out! This is the Nav-1129 from PAC. It has VSS, Reverse, illumination, and brake wire so you dont have to find them all and run all those wires. I installed it into my 2008 malibu and it works great. http://www.pac-audio.com/instructions/nav-1129.pdf (installation) http://www.pac-audio.com/databusVehicle ... hicles.asp (application guide)
  5. wow! You are an asshole!
  6. I can answer this mystery!! All you have to do is, when you bring up the vehicle dynamics, you just tap the screen on the left side (i tapped right in the middle of the compass) and there is a whole list of options. One of which lets you change the guage style. Funny, I was just reading this thread and was wondering the same thing but had never given it much thought. But there you go, mystery solved!
  7. do you have factory XM? I believe that is what the smaller plug is for. I could be wrong.
  8. I have a D3 (without VSS connected) and it works great. The only problem I experience is when i first start the car and start driving, I start moving before the system can even load, causing the arrow to be off a bit. But once I turn, its right on. As far as guidence, I have not yet had a problem with it. Keep in mind that the D3 gives multiple routes to choose from (hitting the "no" button will suggest another route.) most just use the first route the nav suggests. Most nav systems I have used (including the factory one in my torrent) try to use the most major roads first, sometimes re

I appoligize, not pac-audio.com but in order to keep your chimes, you may need the harness at this site http://www.scosche.com/scosche_caraudio ... goryID=228 I was assuming you have an 04 or 05 sunfire. if you have a different year, you can just go to http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-Scos ... otohosting hopes this helps a little more

yep an interface will do (pac-audio.com should do the trick) and if you dont have an illumination (i have a pontiac g6) and I tapped into the HVAC control for my illumination function. all you need to do is use a multimeter (a simple light up one should do) ground the top end, and poke around in the wires and see which one dims the light (or if you have a digital multimeter, watch the voltage fluxuate according to the dimmer) what I did in my car is start by testing the wires behind the actual dimmer knob (cause there are fewer wires) found the wire (light gray for me) and it was th
  11. I have mine mounted under my dash and it works great!
  12. i ordered an onstar mic for my car. It should be in next week and I will post how it does.
  13. Yes, you are right, I have not heard small street names.
  14. I had something weird happen to me. I used one of the pics off the background request thread. It was 500x240 and it worked fine. however, when I made my own on photoshop and made it 500x240, it was way too small, so I made another one that was 1500x720 (72 px/in 8 quality optimized jpg) and it worked perfect. Maybe there is something a bit more technical about it like pixels per square inch or something....dont know. I hope this helps someone.
  15. correction - the D3 will in fact say street names but i am not sure which ones. I know not all of them I havent used it enough to see which roads or whatever....but it will say steet names.
