  1. I guess that you just threw me a curveball talking about amp connections, because I thought that was standard practice. So to clarify: 1.) rem turn on goes to amps per a standard installation 2.) mute wire goes to my external device 3.) new wire installed next to mute wire goes to chassis ground. Is that correct? Also, since you seem quite knowledgable, do I really need to hook up the VSS? If I don't, what will I lose? Thanks for your help
  2. Ok...but I don't follow what you wrote?
  3. I don't follow. Rem turn on for amps should come from blue & white wire from head unit. The remote wire from my detector should connect to yellow wire, and I should install a new wire next to yellow and connect to ground?
  4. I have an external device, similar to a radar detector, that has ground wire/circuit that switches when it alarms. I would like to hook the device to the pioneer, such that when it alarms the stereo mutes. I assume that I can do this with the yellow wire? However, I don't want to lose the ability to use/play DVD/gps at all speeds. So can I use the stock yellow wire as described above and install a wire next to it to achieve gps/DVD capabilities at the same time?
  5. I guess that my question, stated more clearly is as follows: If I install a pin & wire next to the yellow wire (over one spot) to accomodate the GPS/DVD enabling at all times, can I still use the stock yellow wire to connect to an external device such that X920BT mutes when the circuit is closed to ground?
  6. I just got my X920BT and will be installing it this weekend. I plan to mod it such that the DVD, nav menu etc are accessbile during driving. My question is how do I (or even, can I) wire the unit such that it is muted when an external device goes off and the ground wire / circuit on the device is closed? Can I tie that wire into the X920BT such that it mutes? Thanks for the help
