  1. OK, now I'm confused! The OP said the wiring was generally the same but not a direct swap. And you said it just plugged in and worked. Could someone please tell me which is correct? I went from the 700 to the 940. I used a Metra harness with the parking brake bypass for the 700. It sure would be great if I could just pull the 700 out and just plug the 940 in, but I fear it won't work that way and I'll have to get another harness and do another re-wire job.
  2. Same thing happens to me, and I'm sure many others after performing this mod. At certain times, not always, the map hangs and does not follow the car until you press the map button. I guess it is just a small annoyance to live with to not see that nag screen. As I said, it happens sometimes, not all the time and I have not been able to determine the variables that cause the map to hang.
  3. The torrent is in post one at the bottom. It's contained in a .rar file and is called TeleAtlas.rar. Download it, expand it, there you'll find it. It worked for me.
  4. Good job and nice find!! Thanks. Now if I only knew if this update has the new highway and exit information for my area, I'd buy it now.
  5. Great link. Thanks !! You know what? The map data is correct with the correct highway signs here on the link you posted. The date 2008 is down at the bottom of the map on the site. But yet the map data on my F700 with the 2010.06 maps is wrong. I wonder what gives? I wonder if the upgrade on my F700 did not take? I noticed the base map date in my device is still 2007. I wonder?
  6. I'm new too. The quickest, easiest way I found to upgrade was to buy a "repair" off of ebay. It will update the maps and firmware and give you the testmode all on one sd card. Then you can play and learn from there.
  7. Ok, loaded in the "new" map and POI for Pennsylvania. Went to the About-Maps screen and verified that it did say "Teleatlas 2010.06", and it worked. But sadly the update does NOT include the latest road data for a major US city (Pittsburgh). Our highways and exit numbers all have changed. This happened about a year ago. Even Google Maps show the latest changes. Keep this in mind if your road data has changed in your area recently. I think it sad that a multi-billion dollar company like Pioneer can not even keep up with Google Maps for their own $120 map update. Oh well, mayb
  8. Great !! Got it !! Now....... the 2 gig map file that I am seeding. What is the install method for that file ? Same copy and paste?
  9. Help a new guy out PLEASE !! I just bought a F700 and it was really out of date. So I bought a "repair" off of ebay and it went perfect. It came with instructions, and I learned how to get into test mode with the series of up, downs on the volume knob. I then copied and pasted the files on the included SD card as the instructions said and it brought me up to Version 3.000300 and Map Version 02.000300 with the 2009 map data. It helped alot!! The problem is in my area (Pittsburgh) the highway and exit numbering has changed recently. Exit 59 is now exit 1, and I-279 is now I-376 for e
  10. Great answers. Thanks!! I knew it would be that way, always power up. And if want FAIL award, just try to contact their "Customer Service".
  11. My first post. In the directions, it says that the Antenna control when set to "radio" only sends a power signal when the audio source is FM or AM. I have the blue wire hooked to my factory antenna amplifier circuit. My question is, if I an using the HD radio unit (GEX-P20HD) do I want to set this setting to "Radio", or "Power", which causes the antenna amplifier to turn on when the ignition switch is turned on? Thanks for the help!
