Hey all just wanted to say thanks for the info and let you in on an easy way to remove the mute pin from the plug. When you look at the plug it has a smooth side and a side that looks like it is two pieces, on the side that looks like two pieces very carefully pry up(small flat head screwdriver) and pull slightly on the wire. It should come right out.
