i think i know why you said only oem, because those aftermarket only supply 500mah and we need 2000mah.

 

OEM cost $30, that is way too much.

so it worked well on the car while running?? No static or line that goes up and down?

well since we will be reusing as phone adapter it shouldnt be a problem

and we will make sure to wrap it in electrical tape

 

btw, make sure you phone adapter have enought mA

i tried to use an universal adapter that has 500mA and it did not work. It was not strong enought to power the hard drive.

maybe i'll just get a small cigarette inverter, those that convert 12v to 120v and just use the home adapter.

yeah that is the thing, it will work perfect at home,

 

but once you plug it in the car, if the adapter is no good, it will pickup all the static from your alternator.

did you try it in the car or you home tv?

 

how do you plug in the car? does it come with the cigarrette plug??

 

make sure you start the car, and see if any static coming from your alternator

i want to know the picture quality? also, does it comes with a remote, how do you choose which movie you want to watch?

 

Right now, i'm using an external dvd player, small one, and the image sux, alot of static due to the cigarette light plug, it is taking all the static noise from my car alternator.

yeah well, they cut alot of stuff, but that aint going to reduce the price dramatically. I mean, machine makes them, 1 slot or 2 slot doesn't make so much difference in the labor.

 

The country of origin makes alot of difference in the price.

i have the d1 and it is made in japan. I was wondering if the d3 was made somewhere else and that would be the answer for the lower price.

i had the same problem 1 year ago. The only way to fix, was to change the whole knob inside the unit.

 

I didn't do it, since it would be a pain inda butt to do it.

 

i rarely use that knob, so i have to live with it. I only use it to setup the equalizer.

 

i have my steering remote to switch tracks.

nah, i can live without it.

I dont feel like paying $50 to replace that knob, also i dont want to take chance opening the display

my cam was bought at mp3playerstore.com , it is the trunk lock style cylinder
they also sell on ebay, it is the nightvision model.
Not the best, but it does the job for $40shipped.
Nightvision is useless if there is a car behind you with the headlight on, you won't see anything in the screen. if no car behind, it is cool, it looks like you're playing grand tourismo reversed hehe

i had the same problem with an old unit.

So i hook up the VSS wire and problem is now solve

uhh why would you want that.

you will get confuse if it is not reversed. Imagine looking at the mirror when you backup, then looking at the d1 without the reversing image. You're will get confuse :roll:

most camera comes with the option to reverse or not reverse. So you can choose whichever you want.

if you know abit about electronic.

installation should be easy, just find the wiring diagram for your car and you're set.

i bought it on ebay, so i got no invoice.

and if i wanted to, i would have to take out the unit and wait for weeks until they fixed... I will just leave it as it is

my knob is broken, but the little peg pin is still there, so i can still push in.

it is just more difficult but it still works
