  1. Give all credit to Ducati Boy's source here

***quick note***(You do not need to be moving to flip the switch, you can do it while stopped/parked)

Lemme run this down for you guys.

First you will need a toggle switch(any from radioshack will do)

-Take the light green wire from the radio harness and connect it onto one side of the switch

-Take a wire and connect it to the other side of the switch and the end of that wire into ground

-Turn car on, go into NAV, Settings, Hardware, Installation Status.

Flip the switch til you see ON for Parking Brake.

-When ON use a small tool to press the RESET button around the V button.

-The unit will reboot(EQ settings will be gone and NAV will be uncalibrated).

-Insert a DVD and start playing it. Give it about 30 seconds of playing.

-Now turn off the car and flip your switch

-Wait a couple of seconds now turn your car back on. The radio should no longer display the parking brake error message.

BUT WAIT...theres audio playing from your DVD but no VIDEO...

    Flip your switch and voila!

If the above happened, you just bypassed your Z2.

Start driving, DVD still plays above 5 MPH and all NAV functions work!!!

-Very Important Note-Make sure when you turn off your car that you flip your switch to the off position and when you turn on your car flip it to the on position.--Hopefully someone can make a pac switch or something for this.

-Also, if you notice, your NAV wont work for about 5 mins. But will then recalibrate itself.

THANK YOU to whoever discovered this and I am in no way taking credit, just wanted to pass on my instructions and hope you all enjoy your new bypassed Z2's!!!!

  2. i will deffinitely try this tonight but quick question first DB

By E-brake switch does he mean he has it hooked up to the e-brake or just a switch emulating the e-brake. Like a toggle switch...

And if it is a toggle switch..one end will obviously be the e-brake wire and the other will be what? 12v, ground, or acc?

hope you reply soon so I can try this.

  3. Check it out guys...i ordered the bose dash and had to trim some off the sides to make the ac control fit..

    i also ordered the original.

im going to cut the bottom half of the bose dash and add the bottom half of the original dash to make it perfect...

    hope you guys like it

by the way...the z2 rocks...bypass is working so far(it did give me the warning about the improper brake connection)(it did detect 3d)

i have the parking brake grounded and thats all

  4. So i got tired of waiting for my D3 and ordered a Z2. They allowed me to keep the backup cam and still gave me 15% off the z2. pretty good deal i think.

    so anyways.

does anyone remember the bypass on the avh-p5700. This was my unit 2 years ago and I remember the "parking brake switch" bypass.

    It consisted of the following,

    1 toggle switch

    extra ground wire

    procedures,

connect parking brake to one end of switch

connect extra ground wire to ground

switch toggle switch on and off to enable bypass.

    Wonder if this will work????

I will get my unit on wednesday and this is something I will try.

I will post any success stories.

    HOPE THIS WORKS

  5. So i received half of my order(camera, ipod connector, sirius)

I am still waiting on my D3 like many of you are.

Since I was waiting.. me and my friend decided to install the camera tonight..

    note..

this is just temporary as my goal is to drill a hole in the nissan logo openings and hide the camera lens there.

    hope you guys like it

    any questions...feel free to ask
