I would like to thank everyone that makes this upgrade possible. I did the Z1 to Z2 upgrade earlier this year. I just completed the Z2 to Z3 upgrade while preserving my phone book and keeping my music. Everything went well and is working fine thanks to the great instructions on the site. FYI, I kept my original Z1 hard drive and used a new one for both upgrades. I used a Hitachi hard drive, model DK23FB60. I have been using this drive for the last 6 months with no problems (rebooting, freezing, etc.) I would recommend this drive if you cannot locate a Toshiba drive.

Hello everyone. I want to join in and also thank everyone who has worked so hard and been so patient with the not-so-techy guys like me. I just completed my Z1 to Z2 upgrade onto a new Toshiba 60gb HD and following the instructions here, everything went smoothly. With the new HD everything works fine except the unit does not recongnize that the car is moving. I hit the reset button on the front of the unit and no change. The gps is receiving a signal from sattelites. I swapped the orginal HD back in and navigation works normally. Am I missing a step in the upgrade? I am going

I am about to install the D3 into my 2000 Lightning. Any hints or tricks? I know I have to do some cutting. Any help will be greatly appreciated. If you have more pictures, can you send them to dannyp164@comcast.net. Thanks
