I had a f900bt and loved it, I sold my car and included the unit with the sell, Im currently looking for another unit and was wondering if other units are as hackable/moddable as the 900bt/90bt? Are there other non-pioneer units that can be hacked as well? Thanks!

I have an oem 2.0 copy of "my flash disc", not sure if thats what your talking about, I believe its not the firmware, just software files. not sure if it helps. might want to try disconnecting the gps antenna, maybe that might help. send me a pm if u need that copy.

I have 2 headrests monitors and all I can output to them is DVD media, Is there someway I can output anything I want(SD,USB, etc.) to my rear monitors? I have checked the manual and searched but I haven't found much on the topic. Thanks!

Sorry I have been so out of touch lately. I have a newborn baby in my life (now two weeks old) along with a 4 year old. Add to that that I work for a startup which is 1 month away from releasing our first product and things are quite busy. Add yet another complication to the mix and that is that I sold the car which my AVIC was in so I can't do any testing. It had to go with the package so to speak. I am hoping to get another AVIC for my new car but none of the current ones seem to be as moddable as the older versions. I will continue to keep a lookout though.

 

If anyone is interested in taking over this project then feel free. I would be happy to give some pointers on the code wherever I can. You should be fairly advanced with this stuff as the code got rather complex towards the end.

Thanks for your reply. Does anyone know how to get traffic information that can be added to the gps without paying for a subscription service? I wouldn't mind purchasing additional hardware but do not want to pay a monthly fee. Thankyou!

Diaftia's mod doesn't include maps. If it did it would be a 2+gb download. There are maps posted all over this forum. Just grab the ones you want and copy them to the appropriate directory. If that's too hard, try Rettel's 3.1FW update, then Diaftia's 3.6 hybrid mod, that's what I did for my f900bt and my unit works great! Good luck!

Just installed Retell's 3.1, everything is perfect, I would however like to have the GPS tilt more so I can see the sky, from what I understand I have to edit the sys.txt file, I don't however know what to put in the file, can someone, link me or tell me what to add. I have search'd but everything I have found has something to with a current skin/mod. Can it be done with the current default pioneer software? Thanks!

just installed this. Everything works perfect, honestly, I really didn't notice much of a speed difference. But I'm happy I have newer maps! I originally had 2.o instaled from OEM. Thanks Retel!

I have done this a number of times and I also can't get my unit to keep the settings, I have moved the slide in both directions and after reboot and back into testmode, everything is as it was before I messed with it, I was just wondering if anyone figured it out yet, my unit is 2.0 from Pioneer.

First, I hope this is in the right section, Secondly, I have searched throughtout AVIC411 and can not find an answer. Additionaly, the search function does not allow words with less then 4 characters, Anyways, I have noticed that on my AVIC-F900BT that when I'm listening to the FM, the screen is pretty empty, There is plenty of screen realestate left, our F-series systems are realitively new, why is there no RDS(radio data system) information listed, It would be great to have each preset showing information about each channel, and possibly what is currently being played on each preset. Is it because our systems don't have the required hardware? Is there a Mod that can unlock said hardware if we infact do have it? Additionaly, I would love to have TMC (Traffic Message Channel) I believe it uses the same hardware as RDS, so they go hand-in-hand. If in-fact there is no way we can enable RDS&TMC, is it possible to edit the F-series system so maybe we can add a background image to the FM/AM screens, to me they looks bare, I have only had my unit about a month and am trying to learn as much as possible, I can do the basics(testmode, etc.) so please bare with me if I dont totaly understand everything, I love this forum and my F-series radio, and frequent these areas daily and look forward to your responses. Hello everyone. I wanted to chime in with my own experience. I recently purchased a used 900bt for $60. My unit did not come with a GPS antenna.I installed/tested it,it works perfect besides not having GPS.I recently got the GPS antenna, installed it and tested it in my driveway and it worked perfect, until I decided on a road test. I got the same results as others here(random reboots) After searching I did the GPS file deletetion and now it works perfect. I suggest before tearing the unit out of the dash for repairs is to atleast try the file deletions first.I suspect the 1st owner sold it cheap because he too thought the unit faulty. I'm very happy with my unit,especially for the price. Goodluck! BTW, my unit has the hardware bypass.
