  1. figured this out in case others have same issue. probably a rookie mistake, but the internal amp of the avic 930 would not start because it sensed a shorted voice coil in one of the speakers. If you have a bad speaker -- it tries to protect itself. I clipped each speaker wire, pair by pair, until it fired up. One of the four was bad. Hope that helps others. Wiring was just fine.
  2. probably something simple but I hooked up a x930 to 2000 ford f350 using metro harness. No sound whatsoever. Stock speakers no external amp hooked up. Did try the bypass but maybe moved yellow to wrong spot because it gives message and kills av after driving. Otherwise I rechecked speaker wires from harness and seems fine. Any help would be appreciated
