  1. If you apply the x940 update to your x930, it's then a full on Appradio device and fully controllable from the head unit, you still need to plug your phone in but you can hide it away somewhere.

Seems a shame to get rid of your current unit if you haven't tried it's full potential.  What apps are you interested in? most are pretty bad.

  2. I have used the micro SD slot since I first fitted the unit.  It's very similar in operation to an ipod with the exception there is an extra level due to the folders when navigating from one album back to the index.

This unit is only compatible to apple products unfortunately.  Was hoping they would bring out another software update but not this year.

  3. We all know album art is displayed when you connect to your phone but is it possible to embed album art onto a SD card or USB stick so it displays the same?

I have the 940BT by the way.

  4. Hello everyone!!

A lot of reactions on this topic and I think I will also update my pioneer.

But is there a resume which models can use this update?

    - Pioneer F930BT

    - and Pioneer F940BT?

    - anything else also?

    Kind regards

This was from the update I bought and sent to Radeon to update his - and everyone else by the look of it.

It's only to update the 930 according to the packaging.

  5. The hack, updates etc you can do after the install. Beforehand I would concentrate on the connections, make sure you have all the adaptors for the steering wheel buttons, aerial etc as required. Also get a reverse camera, they're great - you will need to wire this to the head unit and run the cables back but can connect it up at a later date. It's a great unit (I have one in both cars), everyone has their own opinion though.

Make sure you put the GPS aerial in a good spot, mine was mounted too low in the dash so kept getting GPS errors. Fine now after I moving it.

  6. You need to jailbreak your iphone and install a couple of apps to do that (cant remember what these were). It will then display the iphone screen on the 930 and play voice commands through the speakers but you cannot use the 930's touch screen, everything is still on the phone.

Get the map update, this will turn your 930 into a 940 and you will be able to use the touch screen for the iphone apps. Tomtom is not one of the apps though.

  7. Hi Guys,

Is there anyway of correcting the GPS position so it shows the car on roads? The position on the map seems about 100 yards out and shows the car driving parallel to the road but not actually on it. I tried adjusting the position and direction in the settings but still cant make it onto a road. It's a bit rubbish!

Updated to 4.01 by the way.

  8. My mic is for setting up a surround amp at home, wasn't a Pioneer or anything special. Just make sure you push it in all the way, mine didn't do anything until it went the last couple of millimetres.

  9. I can thoroughly recommend this. I used the microphone from my home Yamaha 7.1 amp and what a huge difference. I have struggled to get the best out of this unit and now it sounds incredible.

I also jailbreaked my iphone and can now mirror TomTom in app mode (sound & visual) thanks to the advice on here.

  10. I have the same problem after installing a D3 in my Boxster.

The RCA's are remote from the unit, I did try running soldering a 6" cable from each of the RCA's back to the head unit but no difference. Also re-grounded from good earth points and it also made no difference whatsoever. I have used shielded RCA's and the problem is definitely the head unit or the RCA's - the amps and the speaker cable is fine.

Am at my wits end, time for a ground loop isolator!
