  1. Tommy, If you have the right one, then PM me. If needed I can host the file on my server for all to download.
  2. Thanks for the idea but I don't have an e-bay account, don't need one. As he is a member here, I assume he'll drop by by time. I tried to PM him but either he has disabled it or his mailbox is overflowing... Perhaps the Admin here can shed some light on this ? Peter
  3. Hi Guys, I am trying to contact Vearnes but cannot send him a PM. Added him to friends but still cannot mail him. So vaernes, if you are reading this, please PM me your email address so I can contact you. Thanx, Peter
  4. That might be true, yet I still have an original set of discs from the 2008 or 2007 update. On these are european maps. I wonder if overwriting them once the drive is back up and running might be a possibility. I'd have to compare files once I am back up with the set. If it fails, I'll end up with a working european hd3bt with USA maps. Perhaps anyone would like to buy that then ? lol
  5. HI All, This question is pretty straight forward. Does anyone have a EU image for a HD1BT or HD3BT ( the european Z1 series ) . I have two Z1 images here but unsure of the maps they contain.
  6. Ah ...there *is* stil someone alive here Well , what happened is that the original drive would not spin up at all. the IDE Cables can only be mounted in one way as there is a notch in the IDE adapter, so there is no way to mount it wrong. I guess the original drive was more " at it's end" then I thought it would be. The odd thing though was that a new drive would also generate the same error. Perhaps due to the fact there was no software on that yet ? Anyway, there is yet another new drive on it's way. I mean to switch off the ATA PWD lock on that before I use in on the un
  7. HI All, Has any of you tested the option to switch to a SSD IDE drive ? It has no rotating parts, no heads that can smash into the disc, not suseptical to shocks and faster performance. I am considering to test it and see if it will work. Not sure though if it will get locked or not. I do not want to end up with another locked drive that I can throw in the bin. Any advise you guys can give me in this area ? Peter
  8. Is there *NOBODY* here that has any similar experiences that can suggest how to solve this ? Well don't mind....the drive is busted now...so is the new drive I bought, probably due to a faulty 3.5 to 2.5 connector.....Nice
  9. Sounds like the CD drive is busted. You could try to clean the lens but you'd have to take the unit apart. Do NOT ( as in NEVER EVER ) use those " CD Head Clean Discs" with the little bristles on them, they really f*ck up the drive. If you do not trust yourself to do this, let an experienced guy do it or spend a lot of money on repairs by Pioneer themselves for a new drive. That's all I can come up with
  10. Try pairing it with another type of phone, if that works, then you'll know the Z1 is OK. If not, then investigate further. If it does work with another phone, then your Iphone is the problem. If you've jailbreaked the thing, then that might be the cause. If it's an original, it should work. I know it always worked with mine but I had to start the connection from the NAVI, not from the Iphone.
  11. If it's similar to the HD1BT then there is a V button on the front. It could be you pressed that. If you press that for a few seconds the screen goes black ( probably for night driving or to just turn it off ) . You can reenable the screen by simply pressing the V once again. Hope this helps.
  12. Hi All, I have been reading up on all of your great posts the last few days since I have ran into trouble with my Pioneer navi. What started it all was the fact that during CD play and auto recording a message would pop up about the recording not being continuous. It hicked. So first I suspected the cd itself...but that was ok, I played it without the recording option ( auto rec off ) and nothing happened to it during driving, even the worst pothole could not get it to skip, so the cd drive was ok. I then though, " oh damn, it's going to be the HDD" So without knowing anything ab
