  1. My bose amp was pulling like 745 miliamps with the truck off. That can't be normal can it? I have had constant trouble with battery since d3 install. Installer has checked install twice. Went to chank truck this am and dead again. Maybe battery is bad since all the drainage over 5 months time. Any suggestions?
  2. I have a d3 that was draining my battery, I thought. Took back to installer today and trouble shooted for 1 hour. Even unhooked radio completely and still had a large mliamp draw. Come to find out we checked the stock bose amp fuse. What was happening was the amp was not powering down even when vehicle was off. Installer tied the amp wire into a relay and the ignition wire so the amp will only power on now when the ignition is on. After he did that we checked the draw and it was great. Could have been the amp itself but I had no problems until d3 install. So I hope that solved the problem. I

  4. Thanks for the reply. I took truck to autozone and they said the battery was fine. They also checked the alternator. So you say 765 miliamps is not that much. I don't know enough about this stuff. I did not have this problem with battery drain until I got the new radio. A vehicle should last more thatn 7 days without the battery going dead. I think I should take the factory radio and plug it in and see what I am getting then. If it is not reading high then, it must be my d3, right? If it still reads high then what do I look into next since it is not the d3.
  5. My battery has been dying on a regular basis if I don't drive my 2004 tahoe every 7 days or so. I repalced the gmos 04 last week with a new one and battery died again. Took to the dealership and they said the d3 was pulling 765 miliamps. When they pull the fuse to the radio it goes down to 16 miliamps. I called crutchfield where I got it and they said I will need to send it back to them and they would replace the main mother board. Is this a common problem with the d3's are just mine. I don't know anything about this type of thing, I take it that 765 is a very high number. Any suggesti
  6. I had unit professionally installed. I don't know enough about this stuff to do it myself. Shouldn't the place that did the install be able to narrow down the problem? I do have a new gmos - 04 on the way from crutchfield.
  7. When the battery does get low the door chime gets extremely loud. I then have to unhook the battery to get chimes to regular volume. Where should I start? Should i get a new gmos-04?
  8. I have a 2004 chevy tahoe that I drive maybe once a week. If I go 10 to 14 days without driving it, my battery barely starts the truck. I have a new battery. I was wondering if this was common since the radio keeps up with internal memory. I did not have this problem with the factory radio. The dealership says that it is not uncommon. They said that memory sucks a small amount of power, but over time it adds up, plus it has been hot this summer. I can jump in it and drive it every 7 days or so and no problems, but if I wait 10 or so my battery is weak. I did not tell them I have a repl
  9. When I first got my d3 installed and returned home my roads showed up correctly on the map. I live in a subdivision which has 2 roads. Ok, now when I go home on the map it shows the second road in which I live on as a seperate road and 1st on my map. The main road in which you turn on to to get to my road is up the highway as it's own road. If this is confusing I will try to simplify. I live in a subdivision. You have to turn off of major hwy onto street A and then Turn off of street A onto street B in which I live. Ok, it showed up correctly the first time on map. Now after a few days
  10. Just got the d3 installed and on the way home I noticed a faint hissing sound when I was playing my ipod. It went away after I changed sources. When I went back it wasn't there. Then later I think it come back.
