I have the same unit. It sounds like the guy just took the light green wire and grounded it, instead of hooking it up to the actual parking brake, or using a switch/relay.

All, Great forum, I'm hoping someone can help me with my question: I recently bought the 2300dvd unit from ebay used. The wiring harness on it had all the wires on it but the following: Yellow/white, yellow/black, light green. It's not just cut off at the stem, it looks like it was never in the connector at all. My question: First, is there somewhere I can just order a new wiring harness that has all the missing wires? Or, what would be more convenient: Is there some sort of custom firmware I can install onto the unit via the USB port that will remove the parking brake restr
