  1. Ok so im going to be putting a x930bt in my cadillac next week i think

and i know i plan on using the GMOS-06 cause im not about to spent 800 to have new speakers run and installed

but i have heard some say there have been issues with the bose system in the 2000-05 cadillacs and the GMOS06 is this true some have said chimes have not worked some have said there the security system goes buggy at times

and some have said there audio sounds muffled at times

is this really true do these things really happen with the GMOS06 or if it does is it only because the harness itself is bad ?

i know i could always run a stock hu to the trunk and run RCA off it to the new unit but right now i have a factory navi wich im going to sell on ebay for about 500 bucks thats the going rate

So is there anything els i would need to worry about

are there any memebers here that have these units in there 98-05 Cadillac with bose system ?

  2. Ok so im going to buy eithere a Pioneer X930bt or a Clarion NX501

    please help me decide

the only think keeping me from saying rigth away about the piioneer for sure is that i have heard you can not bypas it with a simple ground to the P-break

but i have also read there are hacks for it

How many here have sucessfully hacked the system ?

I am not so much in need of viedo play back during driving but i want the navigation features to be active and the phone and blue tooth fetures to be active when im moving more then 10mph

so is this really a good hack

Im not really a techy person

a freind said i just need to use a relay but i think he is thinking of the older units

also what are the cons and pro's for this unit

how is boot and load up speed is it good or does it lag a bit

    what about GPS speed

do i need to run a wire to the VSS on my dash ? or is the TPS antenna all i need to hook up ?

how fast to reaspond is the GPS navigation does it lag at times or preaty fast

how often does Pioneer come out with updated for there navigation systems

currently my factory nav in my cadillac has not been updated for 3 years and this is why i want a new system

thank you please help me make the right choice

i know i need the GMOS-06 to keep my Bose system speakers and amp and all the car chimes and fetures

and the PAC interface to keep my steering wheel audio controls

the antenna adapter i have and the double din kit i have is there anything els im missing here ?

    thank you

  3. I can definitely confirm this, too. I successfully completed my bypass last night and tested it on the highway at 60MPH. I made no changes to the VSS wiring.

I followed the instructions here (and on various YouTube Videos), and initially it didn't work -- I was getting the "system has detected an improper connection of parking brake lead" error message -- so I examined all of my connections and basically did the whole thing all over again. I also disconnected the unit from the car battery to do a 'Method 1' reset. The second time around it worked perfectly.

Here are the YouTube videos that should be viewed before doing a bypass...

This one really shows in good detail how to move the mute wire in the A/V RCA harness to the proper position. It answers the question about how to remove the pin without wrecking the harness (using a thin wire from a resistor or a twist-tie):

And this one gives you a complete picture of what you need to do -- moving the mute wire, connecting to brake lead and ground:

This was my first adventure in even opening up my dash panel myself... a great learning experience.

So both of these Bypasses work is this only for viedo when driving or will this work also to use your navigation functions and blue tooth function whyll out of park ?

  4. i am just about to purchase a X930BT and a friend told me i just need a micro relay to get the system to work properly when not in park

but from what im reading here it seems to be that this is not true ?

i also have read 2 things im not sure wich one is correct

in this thread i have read where you want to take the yellow black wire out of the position it is in and move it over 1 slot ?to the side

and i have also read you want to take the yellow black wire out and move it down or up one slot depending on how your looking at it

Im confused how come im reading 2 different things

wich one is it that i would want to do

also i want to take the yellow wire and connect it to the parking break wire ? or is that wrong

do i want to just ground the parking brake wire but wich wire do i ground it with

also what about the vehicle speed from understandings its the pink wire do i want to do anything with that ?

im not really looking to watch movies whyll drive

I just want to have access to the Navigation functions and phone and Bluetooth Functions whyll driving

thanks any help would be great

this is going to help me decide weather i go for the Pioneer or the clarion unit thank you
