Ok so i have noticed that when ever i click on the Equilzer it always is set to Auto Off and does not give me any way to change it to ON

what is this for and is there any way i can turn it on how do you do the settings for this ?

yeah i didn't realize it was that untill just now then i started thinking about it and yeah

i have not really used the avic feeds ap much just a few time swhen i wanted to get a destitatio set and ready for a road trip without having to punch it in manualy ones i got in the car

does anyione know exactly what the Updated avic app does ?

all it says is fixes problems with iphone and avic units

but does not say what problems

i would think it would fix the problem with the iphone and ipod volum turning down all the way when you connect via blue tooth but that is not what it fixes so im wondering what does it fix anyone know ?

oh wow i had no idea that pioneeer was used as a OEM stock HU in any cars anywhere cool

i wonder what other cars use them

um unless there is some sort of specialty battery or charging system that is only meant to hold a 5 or 7 minute charge without it recharging

then that is bogus and they have no damm clue what they are talking about

if that does happen i would have to say your battery is bad the CCA amps of your battery are going bad or you have a electrical constant drain in your system somewhere

but even with my 2000 seville and when my battery was dieing all the time i atleast had 15 minutes before the battery would be down to 9amp and no starting power

ones i put a good fresh battery in i can now run it for about 45 minutes no issues without charging it with key On

how can you tell what year map data you have on your systems is there a way to look this up ?

i have the X930bt so i know must think i have the current year data but i just read somewhere they didn't even come out with the updates untill oct of 2011 this year so now i wonder if i got my unit in september and if the updates didnt come out till october i think maybe i have 2010 maps

is there a way to tell what map files i have on my system ?

silly question, but have you deleted the phone from the AVIC and tried to repair it?

 

also check to make sure there is not a update for the AVIC's bluetooth.

how would the OP delete the phone from his avic unless he has 6 devices hooked up from my understanding that is the only way to delete the phone device from the the HU

i have my mic now mounted right across from me tittled a little up threw the steering wheel on the cluster dash bezel

every now and then ill ask someone hows the quality they say its fine

1 our ot 10 will say they here some interferne or small echo

when i get a chance i am going to move it up threw the headliner more and mount it right between the Headliner and the Rear View

good thing in that area i think is the part that sound travels up and its never got to have the mic places to low

hmm is there a way to save your settings on a SD card that way i don't have to reset everything manually again i can jsut load the SD card and load the settings from it

If I remember correctly, you can only delete when you have 5 devices and want to add a new one.

 

If you have 5 devices, try adding a new one and a delete menu should pop up. To do this without 5? I have no idea if you can. I haven't found a way.

nope does not work i now have 5 devices on there and cant delet any of them

I bought a used car with this head unit, I've been trying to figure this out for the past week... Only Day/Automatic and I can't even do a manual toggle....

you might want to pull the HU and see if the Orange - white wire is connector to anything if its not then you need to find the Ilumination wire on your cars harness if it has one and connect it to the orange white wire on the Pioneer harness

its possible your car does not have i tthen you can try the above way of doing it but from what i have heard is if you run a wire to the headlamp switch on its own you can end up shorting something out and that might fry something in the HU so i don't know if i would do that

the button right under the multi purpose knob i forget weather that is the home or the menu button but if you hold it in for a few seconds it will bring up a screan that will let you manualy dimm the HU and change the color tones

hmm ok cool thanks i know there are 4 right now 3 iphones and my Brothers phone i only have 1 of the iphones

i hope that it doesn't only let me delete just 1 phone to make room for more if thats the case that would still suck

ok so i am trying to figure out is the only way to delete a device from the HUs Memory for the BT to reset the entire HU settings ?

i really do hope that there is a way to just delete some of the phones and devices would suck

to have to reset the entire HU to factory settings

also if you reset to Factory settings does this also mean my PW will be reset and need to be set up again ?

anyone having problems with the BT sound ?

i notice that every now and then when i star the system up that the sound is faded very light so then i have to turn the bt of and then back on and it works good

another issue i am having is

and this is really irritating

is that the volume on my phone and or ipod device will go down all the way and ill have to turn it up this also only happens when the system boots up but not always its kidn of irritating anyone els having this issue >?

 

it would work by preventing the turn on signal from reaching the radio, there is no danger in this at all (the ideal, there is always a danger if you are not sure what you are doing)

 

 

however you may have to pay extra for this option to have it installed for you. (see what i did there.lol)

i installed the HU myself

i am not happy that way it is sitting not perfect in the dash i gause because i tried to get around cutting out part of the dash behind the radio i thought i could put all th elittle extras in other areas but not working out as i thought it would so i need to pull the HU

and cut out part of the dash to fit things

then the HU will fit flush like it should with no gaps

now back to the switch

il post more ones i get it done

i was thinking of setting up a toggle switch to the Power Line on the Radio and that way i could cut it off and turn it on when i want to but i am not sure how that would work im scared that i might blow something out

but if anyone knows if this is a safe idea this might work for those who want to be able to have the HU turned off completely

buy one bullet, and then rent a gun, the rest should be easy to figure out.

hmm S500 i am not sure baout 2001 i think 01 was the first year for the new body style or maybe it was 2000

i had the older 90s big body style S500 it was a 1997 the Speed Sensor wire for that came in at the Dash Cluster same as my Cadillac

you might want to check that out see if the signal is transmitted there if it is just splice into it

you know this wireless set up still has to be plugged into the RCA harness on the HU right ?

just wanted to make sure you knew this

some think they don;'t and i ahve seen a few buy them for other systems to only return them when they found out they had to pay someone 50 or 60 bucks to install it

ok now for the good i have 1 person i know who uses it no issues

but im guessing there might be a reason why Crutchfield stopped carying it maybe think about that also

aren't there way to use the 930bt software on a 920 ?

did you hook up your VSS wire i think its the pink one to the Vehicle Speed Sensor ?

if its not working i would check the connection to the VSS and make sure its connected right

again what do you do work for BB

? you defend them like you are a installer yourself

no reason in the world for them to charge to hook up things that come with the HU

if they came sepratly and where purchased options then ok but they where not

any news on this i just noticed it started this for me the other day

something els that happens and is anoying is eveyr now and then the volume on my Ipod itself gets turned down when i first start up and thats annoying also any news ?

I live in Cleveland Ohio and it comes back to sounding like you are one of the BB workers trying to excuse the reason why they charge it

yes these are options that the HU comes i with

BB chooses to sell them togethere they also choose not to take part in Mail In Rebated the Pioneer offers because they would have to kick somthing back im betting

they are so cheap that they choose to charge extra to plug things in the HU comes with or the system comes i with

then they should not post a rate to install a system they need to post it all

they are charging 99 bucks to isntall a Navi or DVD unit

but they charge 45 to install a Basic CD HU

where is the extra cost in the install labor is the same if they are going to charge more they plug a harness in splice the wires together emaybe a navi or dvd uni has a few more wires then a regular HU maybe they don't

but if they want to charge more for a DVD or Navi install then that should include the options like feature the thing comes with

other wise they can have evyerhign packaged seprate and choose to sell them seprate

but if our units need something to work properly like a VSS wire im sorry i don't belive they will work the way they are desihned without this then why are they charigng 99 to install a unit and then charge more to make that unit work right ? thats really messed up
